and out into the front porch, and it disappeared, i couldnt find it anywhere, must have escaped through the smallest of gaps in the front door

Had the cat already had hold of it?

Just wondering why it was bloody.

Why do you think it got through the smallest of gaps in the front door? Wouldn't it be more likely to go through the largest of the gaps?

I think my cat would just look at it!

She's good at catching slugs though - oh yes, their speed is no match for her agility!

    Get a humane mouse trap....BUT....

don't let the children find it. Will found the humane trap and live contents when we were living next door to you and thought we'd got him a new pet!!!

hoping it was a one off in the house but

guess it wont be, will have to monitor the situation, the girls would scare the sh*t out of any poor creatures if they were around, they were in bed when the intruder appeared
