    Used to live in York myself. Went to school there. The kids all started out Liverpool fans, then moved on to Man United, then became Man United and York for a while when York had a flirtation with getting into the second tier, then they all became Leeds fans. (puke)

    And they used to try and take the piss because I stood by Barnsley no matter what. (wnkr)

    I know one lad - only one lad, from the whole time I was there, that stood by York city all the way (and still does).

    I can imagine what Parliament Street looks like at them moment - a sea of white fickle idiots.

    Nice post mate Barnsley born n bred joined the Army in 1980 but finished our last posting in York so stayed here until kids leave school 2 down 1 to go then im moving back t Tarn, came home from one tour boys bedroom all man u wasent happy but now iv converted two of them to be barnsley.

    Nice one mate. Moved out of Wombwell with my family when I was four - we went to York where we stayed until I was sixteen.

    Every father's nightmare - you come home one day and your son is claiming to be a Moan U fan! You've done well getting them back on the straight and narrow. Your wife needs a right talking to :)

    My lad's only one and a half - he already has a barnsley strip, and yesterday he pointed at a picture of Neil Redfearn and said 'Barnsy' - my eyes welled up.

    I'm in Cambridge now, so my trip around England continues. When I'm back in Barnsley I check out the house prices and it isn't half tempting I'll tell you...
