A few there not for the faint hearted... Port vales a horrible **** hole where locals hate everyone Sheff utd a horrible **** hole where the locals hate everyone Bradford's the same. Last time I went Swindon coppers put us in a pub where their loons drank and half of them seemed to be tooled up looking for a victim. Walsalls not the best either same with Oldham. Be **** all policing as well...
I had a look at them and thought I might even do more away games than home games. Been to all those grounds before, and apart from Sheff Utd never had a problem. Walsall has been one of the friendliest ground I've ever visited (3 separate occasions, 2 different grounds).
Port Vale is a mental place, very passionate fans for a lower league team. To be honest the places you mention and others are the silver lining of relegation for me, some great away days to be had. Better than the annual trip to Derby/Forest/Leicester/Boro, sat in a corner, paying £30 and watching us lose. Just the home games that will be awfully depressing!
I am slowly coming around to the reality of life in the third division. I might even start doing a few more away games than I have for the last few years.
Love Oldham for an away day. Burslem's vile at the Vale. But academic cos we'll stop up Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'll probably make a few more away days next season too, grounds with character which won't be as much of a rip off. We should have more chance of winning too, rather than paying £30 to see us play for a draw and never manage it.
I've been to all of them and never had a problem, the worst experience was at Rotherham away, when the home fans were chucking half bricks over the stand at the back on the Barnsley fans when we won 4-2. Can't imagine being the same experience at their new ground though ...
These places sound like proper football clubs, where they don't have goal music and still serve bovril. Much better away day than the like of Derby and Reading and Leicester etc. Fed up if 8 years of loosing at the same places all the time.
Let's hope it's at Christmas and that they stay up as we will be over then and my other half is an Oldham fan. It would be interesting to see which of my kids goes with Mum and which goes with Dad!
