    Its serious allright

Paul.d Posted it during the week

Our Police force is rapidly becoming a complete joke.

Only a couple of weeks ago a motorcycle festival was cancelled at 4 days notice because the North Wales Police suddenly decided it was too dangerous - this was despite the fact it had run for years without any hint of trouble

How about charging deprived areas much more council tax to pay for the extra police they need it costs a lot more to police these areas.

I thought the purpose of the police was to allow normal law abiding citizens to continue their activities.

It seems the North Wales police have an agenda against ordinary citizens who like motoring,
The South Yorkshire police have an agenda against football fans

Its not as if the policing gets the balance right most of the time - usually its way over the top

Alas it will be the fans who end up footing the bill

Pubs and clubs should definitely pay a contribution

to policing if they don't already. I assumed they did. If they don't, that's scandalous. The taxpayer is paying for town centres to be policed while pubs and clubs rake in the money getting people drunk? Sure the customers will end up footing the bill through increased drinks prices but that's fair isn't it? The council tax bill will (should!) go down so the average joe will be no worse off. Just apportioning the costs in a fairer way to those who are using the services.
