I had nhs medical last week, I've to go a back and see the dr on Monday, they've told me I've to have another one of my blood tests done in a months time and not to touch alcohol 2 weeks before plus I've to have a ultrasound..I hope it's nothing but you can't help worrying can ya?
It's not ideal but blood tests can be affected be a number of things, such as what you eat, drink, smoke etc. It's possible your previous blood test was affected to one of those things and they need to ensure that is the case. It'd be better if they could fit you in tomorrow though instead of leaving you to worry all weekend.
I actually asked if they could fit me in sooner but unfortunately they were fully booked up, like you say it's just having the worry over the weekend that makes it worse
I'm almost certain it will be because your Liver Function Tests have come back with abnormal readings. They will retest your blood to see if the readings have changed. The ultrasound will be of your Liver and the surrounding areas looking for any abnormalities. How Much do you drink and are you overweight?
I'm probably about a stone overweight and I do enjoy a beer but I wouldn't class it as excessive, probably about 5 pints a week,
Nay point worrying about it pal. But you would have thought the dr would have given you a clue as to why they need you back in... best of luck anywho. Ive got to wait til 5th of next month to see mine. And have a night off work. Ball-ache (The fcukin abart I mean. My balls are fine...)
You possibly may have something called a "Fatty Liver". They will ask you to lose some weight and cut down completely on the alcohol. Nothing to worry about as your Liver will repair itself if you make the Lifestyle changes. Once again don't worry everything will be fine. T
i went to docs last week. told me i''d never work again. whats wrong with me? iasked. nothing wrong your just an idle b@strd. seriously mate hope everythings ok. i'm sure it will be.
Cheers mate, i just wish I could get in to see him a bit sooner, it's one of them things that you can't help worrying a bit
