Going to take some getting used to. The most obvious problem is that posts don't seem to change colour once you've viewed them. It's going to be just about unusable if there isn't a remedy for that.

Tha must be thick then Jay

I know I am according to some simple b@stards on here for having the audacity to question this message board

And yes i do realise that Galley et al have put time, effort and their own money in to getting this thing up and running.
And may I take this opportunity to thank Gally et al for doing this.
But it dosent get away from the fact that its not as 'user friendly' as the old message board

    Hi Jay,

If you use linear mode then the icon box on the left of the page shows an envelope. If the envelope is empty then there's no postings in the thread that you haven't read. If it looks like there are sheets of paper in it then there are unread posts.

When you open a thread where there are unread posts then there's a little blu arrow that appears on the grey bar at the top next to 'thread tools'. If you click that it takes you to the first unread post.

It has taken me a bit of time to get used to the format but I'm fine with it now.

BTW the 'threaded view' on this site is poor in my opinion.

    Hope this helps

    Dave

What BFCDave said......linear mode it's easy to follow, easy to see if there are unread posts in a thread, and you don't get one long thread taking up your screen.
This board has been a long time coming to get away from the archaic format of the other, which remember was completely unusale because it was so slow.
