Just had a shock, a letter from magistrates

    saying something about a tv licence.

    What happened was i was the only person in and one of there wardens came to check. Anyway i told my mum to chance it and there must have been a problem. Got a letter today from court. Told my mum to sort it or me as she was the one that paid every month. shes just phoned me and told me that shes sorted it and they hadn't chanced the direct debit from old address to new address.

    I'm furious though. She's still got to write a letter to someone with proof of bank account payment or something.

    i did. Still a bit annoyed though. Normally calm but not at the moment. When i'm calm i will be writing a large letter from me telling them what i think but i'll not say anything that will get me introuble.

    Did they actually enter your property?

    What's it say on the letter, is it warning you action may commence or is there a court date?

    No but at the time i said we had a tv. got a letter with a date on. My mum says when she sends this letter off they will get intouch with the court.

    So you've moved house and overlooked changing the TV license from your old house to your new? If they've still been taking money for a license for your old address, then you may cause for complaint. How recently did you move house?

    And for future reference. Your answer to anyone knocking at the door other than the postman or people asking for directions is go away.

    If you check the paperwork you were given by the tv licensing person it'll be riddled with errors.

    9 month ago. my mum told them we moved then they came out and she later told them we'd moved again. it was meant to chance address when we moved.

    got a copy of it and the women who was asking me questions didn't even right down what i said but silly enough i signed it.

    It sounds like a clerical error Hemsaldinho, nothing to worry about. Demand compensation, as the thought of losing skysports has obviously caused you undue stress. :(
