Pressing '9' would probably have connected you to a premium rate line at your expense. Good job you didn't.

I seem to get some

every week or 2, I'll get a load of calls in one evening, at least half a dozen, answer and there's just bleeping at the other end. Number withheld so can't track it that way and I am registered on the TPS site

Worked at first but it doesn't stop the fraudulent calls from companies trying to rip you off.

Funnily enough it was BT who asked me if I wanted to register with the TPS when I got my new line put in. Most of the marketing calls I get now are from BT asking me if I want to give them more money for things which are of no value whatsoever.
