Dear Friend,

I am Captain Barry Crawford of the US Military on Monitoring and Peace–keeping mission in Baghdad-Iraq. On the 15th day of August 2006, we were alerted on the sudden presence of some Terrorists camping in a suburb not too far from Karbala here in Iraq. The city is known to contain some of the world's most sacred shrines for Shi'ite Muslims. During our immediate intervention, we captured three (3) of the terrorists. Before our arrival, about 16 were already killed in combat and many wounded.

While we torture the 3 terrorist we captured to extract information, they confessed being rebels for Ayman Al-Zawahiri and followers of Mahmoud al-Hassani, a Shiite cleric known for anti-American and anti-Iranian views. They took us to a cave in Karbala which served as their operating base camp. Here we recovered thousands of guns, bombs and other ammunitions including some boxes among which two contains nuclear weapons, one filled with hard drugs (cocaine) and the other four to my amazement contain some US Dollars currency amounting to 25million US dollars.

I and two of my junior officers who tortured the terrorists have decided that we will not disclose these 25 million dollars to the Iraq authority. We want to keep this money to ourselves because when you are fighting war in a far away country, you may not be sure the next thing that happens to you. I hope you can understand what I mean here. My friend and senior military officer, Col. William Wood, commanding officer of the 1st Battalion, 184th Infantry Regiment, was killed in combat in the Iraq war around October last year. Reports shows that at least 2,605 members of the U.S. military have died since the Iraq war started in March 2003.

Please see check this link to know how the United States have lost many souls just because of Iraq:

My friend, I am sure you can understand what it means to fight war. We are in need of an honest person who will help us to keep this money in safe custody until our assignment here in Iraq elapses and we return back to the United States. We assure and promise to give you 20% of this amount if you help us to keep custody of this money until our return.

Also we require you to keep this information top secret between you and us to protect our job with the US Military.

Thanks for this help you give to us. Reply immediately so that we can give you instructions of what you are to do.

    Sincerely

As pathetic a scam as it is, you can't fault the scammers tireless commitment to their schemes. I wonder if anyone actually falls for these!?
http://www.tri-cityherald.com/24hour/special_reports/iraq/story/3351402p-12335493c.html
