Apparently my picture was out of date so at the price of £20 I had to renew. Before I could renew my licence the DVLA wanted the following information: Name Date of birth Address Proof of address via bank details Contact numbers Mothers maiden name National insurance number Passport number Driving licence number Driving licence reference number Driving licence counterpart number Apart from that it was easy.
Yep....annoyed the **** out of me n the missus too. We got the newwies when we moved house so had to renew at the same time I aint changed that much in 10 years (see my new thread coming soon )
Think it's every ten years with a photo Id driving licence that you have to renew, another way to get money off us drivers
i recently changed my address and i just put my passport number in online and all done including a more up-to-date photo for free just "move address" for a few weeks then move back!
Never had to renew mine ... Still using a paper licence. Seems odd I'm allowed to have a paper licence and folks with photo licences have to renew all the time.
When we moved and we sent off for our updated licences (address change) we were asked if we would like the new photo ones. The part about paying for renewal either wasn't included or was in tiny small print. #moneymakingracket
i went to the post office and they did it all for me, i handed them my out of date licence, they took a photo of me, asked me for my signature, i singed & paid then they posted me the new one within a few weeks.
I saved myself a fiver by doing it all online for nowt. That'll buy me an extra pint at the Huddersfield match
