he says we don't play with two wingers because it leaves us too open in midfield-he will be using squad rotation to avoid over tiredness now the games are coming thick and fast

    my thoughts re formations FWIW

    1) do you choose a formation and then try and fit the players to it-which I think is what we do-OR

    2) choose a formation that suits the strengths of available players which I think is what Danny Wilson did

I'd always go for option 2 as the players will be more comfortable with it and when push comes to shove with option 1 they forget "dossiers" and revert to type anyway

still I'm not a fully qualified coach so what do I know?

It's always option 2 unless you're mentally deficient.

Why did he bring in Hammill on loab instead of a Left Back. We do not need two reserve wingers. The man's not right in the head.

    Hamil & JCR

Their workrate when they don't have the ball is awesome - I'd take issue with Davey on that point if they were the 2 wide men.

But how can you believe anything he says anyway?.........

...... apparently we have left 3 men upfield all season when defending corners, according to Davey, we've done it about 2 games to my knowledge.

So we can play Bogdanovic on the wing, even though he's a centre-forward, but we can't play JCR and Hammill on the wings at the same time???? If we can't play 2 wingers (at home) in a 4-4-2 formation, with 2 defensive midfielders inbetween them, there's summat wrong.

    He's clueless

He over complicates what in theory is a simple game.

And what you said about Bogdanovic etc.

    He 'under-complicates' it sometimes ...........

.......... knocking high balls to a midget who's marked by two giants!

Because he left it until the last minute on deadline day ..............

....... and then had to take what he could for whatever position just to add some strength/depth to the squad - that's why we ended up with another winger and the lad from Fulham who plays in the same position as Colace!

Having said that I really rate Hammill, clearly Davey doesn't or he would be a regular by now with his talent (and Bogdanovic playing in his position!)

You've hit the nail on the head there.

We have more than enough talent in all areas of the pitch to play a straight 4-4-2 formation without leaving us open. The game has been played that way in this country for donkeys years, so its probably not "modern" enough for Davey.

Can't wait to see what he puts out against Blackpool. Its make or break for me on Saturday- if he fcuks that game up I'm done with him.

    4-4-2

With 2 wingers, JCR and Hamill, it would give decent protection to our full backs, who aren't are strongest players.
Bog and Mif up front. No Macken and JCR wide would actually decongest midfield and let Colace and da Silva/Teymourian/Hassell, whichever, get on with the defensive, holding jobs instead of getting in each others way.
Not rocket science to any of us is it?

I think Blackpool is one of the games he's earmarked to put a performance in and win.

If that doesn't happen then I fear the worst. He has the players at his disposal now to be a force in this division imho. I don't think he knows how to make that happen though.

When did he suddenly decide 2 widemen was wrong for us ?

Was it after he'd bigged up JCR and Devaney, or after he'd signed Adam Hamill ?

Too much time on his fcking whiteboard, not enough letting the players play.

Who knows what goes on in his head? ............

.......... it was probably when he decided that JCR was Torres/Robinho/Kaka rolled into one and worth a 'free role'

the man is arrogant and in my opinion, believes no one is capable of stopping him. P.C , at some point will realise this man is successful only because he can talk the talk and as such
will continue to Blag P.C and get away with it. fortunately, P.C. will at some point realise that Davey is taking the p*ss and will take us down. But, unfortunately I have a feeling he may realise so
    only when it's too late.

It will all come home to roost ..............

........ when we are away at Yeovil on 15.8.09, when all the best players have been sold or flown the nest and we have sold 4,000 season tickets

JCR played his best football wide. Dev was fine til he got injured, Hamill looks very lively and talented. Play 'em. He often seems scared of leaving people out. working to a 'plan' rather than to strengths. He obviously thinks we are less likely to lose like this. But then again are we less likely to win? We have actually won enough games to be midtable, it's not drawing enough that maybe bugs him.

You know Albatross, but where BFC are concerned my heart becomes heavier by the day. While ever we have this fooking numpty in
charge we are going nowhere only downhill. Come on P.C. wise up to his blagging and get rid
