I for one would like to say thanks for everything and keep up the good work.

Please ignore the comments of the retard laying the blame at your door as I believe that Mr Davey has has more than enough dosh to keep us comfortably mid table.

It is however now time for Mr Davey to depart before all your hard work is put back to square 1.

    Cheers

I would agree with the above but also add

That I think the attempts to bring in a new chairman should be stepped up now as we are clearly lacking a leader off the pitch.

Well said, I hope PC doesn't come anywere near this board, if he does and reads some of the sh*te posted on here you couldn't blame him if he thought stuff this for a game of soldiers, I'm off, lets leave these morons to stew in their own juice. To all those screaming more money, JUST SHUT THE F*CK UP. He's put enough in. There are obviously problems down at the well, but he cannot be expected to just pump money in, that does'nt work anyway as history has proved. After supporting the Reds for 50+ years I am grateful he saved the club and keeps it going, believe me I have seen worse times than these at Oakwell, much worse.

Well get ready to stagnate where we are then for a while to come cos u can't compete without spending substantial amounts of money on proven quality players at this level, as i have said before the Premiership-Football league gulf is now just too great to not invest in the team and expect to be a sucess.

If Cryne won't do it then he should find someone who will.

RE: HuddsRed.......................you are the retard !!!

    Why??

Just because i have a differing opinion to other people.

Look at the table it just doesn't lie. Cryne appointed Davey and for that he should take responsibilty, if we go down with Davey still in charge it will be his fault, simple as!

You also reckon that we can one day challege for the play offs with out spending a few million on some proven championship players?? Don't be stupid!!

Well there must be someone out there who would be willing to put money into the club, we are not exactly a shithole are we.

Why is it such an absurd thing to suggest anyway, Cryne is obviously not willing to front up the money for some quality players so why not look for someone else??

The blokes come in and basically bailed the club out with his kids inheritance, backed the manager with transfers, kept the wolfs at bay, and you want him to keep ploughing cash into a business that will clearly never give him anything back.

I'm sure you would in his position...

Thanks PC, not every fan is as ungrateful as this one.

Isnt the money put in by PC a loan that we have to pay back?

ie he will get the money back. Not that that makes any difference

Think of it this way, if we did back into the premiership, just one seasons revenue would pay him back his investment and then some!

    Just a thought

    Hudds Red...

Pat Cryne has always said that he would guarantee the future of the club, but not bankroll it. He would like to see us producing more of our own players through the Academy. Saying that, he has backed SD in his transfer dealings.

I understand that he would love someone else to come on board, and inject some cash into the club. However, it doesn't look like they are knocking the door down to join us.

I would rather have someone like Pat Cryne, who is a lifelong fan, in charge of the club, than someone who has no affinity to the club.

    RE: Hudds Red...

Fair enough but the academy as produced nothing of value for the past 8 years or so that it has been in operation. Even that requires money for coaching and scouting so there is no getting away from the money issue.

Okay i respect your allinace to Mr Cryne and thats fair enough, we should all be eternally grateful to him for what he has done but he should be blamed for Davey been there in the first place, it was a terrible decision and the chickens are now coming home to roost so to speak, he is clearley not a football man with little or no knowldege of how the buisness works so why not look to appoint a chairman or cheif executive who does?? It can't hurt surley

NO ONE.........repeat........NO ONE..........is saying PC has done a bad job

Everybody who supports Barnsley is in debt to Patrick Cryne..............we all know this
    But what people (me included) are saying is this;

To move forward, to get away from the relegation zone, we need players, QUALITY strikers that can score goals
We have Hume but thats it...............we need at least another two
And these other two are going to cost to bring them in.........they are not going to cost £400k or £200k they are going to cost much more than this. Maybe transfer fees, maybe wages, maybe both.

To be reight..........PC knows this already because in the close season he mentioned that we need a better strike force.......we tried for Phillips which in one swoop could have solved most of our current problems.
We got Hume which was a good aquisition, but not the full answer to the goal scoring problem.

I have been saying before the start of the season we are two players (strikers) away from a top six spot
    I still beleive this
And thats why I still support Simon Davey

Also we could do with a Chairman or a director of football or what ever you want to call him, preferably a guy that has a name in football that can take the club forward.

We used to have a football exec in charge

    Peter Ridsdale.

Look what happened when he was in charge? I think this may be part of the reason PC wants to be so hands-on.

I take your point, but PC is trying to put the club on an even financial footing.

The academy is always going to be a sore point with people. But, as was pointed out by JLWBL a few days ago, is there the local talent to produce players? As far as I know, we have a very limited scouting system to pick youngsters up.

Regarding SD, I am sure PC is aware of our league position, and the situation.

We will just have to wait and see.
