Got our sloe gin on the way too Using last year's sloes from the freezer. Despite the mess made by an exploding bottle of the stuff last year. Opinion seems divided on the matter, but Mrs Burgundy Red and I hold with the view that you should wait until the sloes have been through a frost, or at least stick them in the freezer for a bit before using them. We leave here too early so it's the freezer option for us. Mrs B R also recommends raspberry gin, although I'm sure that anything that ends with the word "gin" would be OK with her. That gives me an idea . . .
