No shortage of sloes here, but can't afford the gin. Life's a bitch. nt

What do you do to make it sloe? And what happens? Heard it before but not much of a spirit drinker.

RE: fruit of the blackthorn bush, here

But what does it do to it? Or does it just make a nice tasting drink?

I am intrigued now. Think I might get a bottle of Brandy and give it a go. Cheers.

Got our sloe gin on the way too

Using last year's sloes from the freezer. Despite the mess made by an exploding bottle of the stuff last year.

Opinion seems divided on the matter, but Mrs Burgundy Red and I hold with the view that you should wait until the sloes have been through a frost, or at least stick them in the freezer for a bit before using them. We leave here too early so it's the freezer option for us.

Mrs B R also recommends raspberry gin, although I'm sure that anything that ends with the word "gin" would be OK with her.

That gives me an idea . . .
