Had to watch Eastenders last night to get into character iam in with west ham fans 3 rows from the pitch on half way line.:-|
Was it?.... Hull v West Ham? ... Or did some West Ham fans turn up to see the mighty Reds at Boothferry Park? Speaking of which; did you go when Trevor Aylott made his debut and he commented about the size and noise of the Barnsley support afterwards?
RE: Was it?.... It was Hull v West Ham in league, my mate lives in Hull, before he got married we used to go over quite often and he used to often go to Boothferry Park but he always went in the away end (much to the amusement of the police who got to recognise him!). The West Ham fans were just puzzled when we were talking! Didn't go to the game you mentioned....we did go to one Reds game there though at New Years I think, dressed as monks! My mates housemate (a Huddersfield fan incidentally) decided to come with us at last minute and the fancy dress place didn't have any more monk costumes so he went dressed as a nun! Had a right laugh that day.
Monks at Boothferry Park.... ff Sounds like a good laugh. Would that have been the 4-3 win in about 86ish? After a 0-0 there, and i believe there was actually 4 shots on goal throughout the match, we ended up staying in Hull for the evening as my cousin met up with a couple they had met in Greece. It was quite a lively place and a good night was had by all. We were in one pub when thet Paul Heaton walked in, all fresh-faced, and it was around the time of the Housemartins 'boom!' What struck me, was how small he was. Boothferry Park was quite a large ground wasn't it?
