The reason that we "should be beating teams like Barnsley" is because whether you like it or not, we are a bigger club with better players and a Premiership set-up. We have a stadium that has held and England Internationals and is in the F.A "top 10" We have the best youth academy set-up in the country by a mile in the previous 3 years. We have signed Premiership class players such as Pele, Wright-Phillips, Rasiak and Skacel (all of whom turned down Premiership clubs to join Saints) We have spent £7 million on transfers in pre-season alone. We are one of the favororites to go up, you are one of the favourites togo down. We didnt win for a number of reasons, we had Svennson, Lundekvam, Belmadi, Prutton, Sarmiento, Licka and Fuller out. We had a unexperiemced CB pairing in Baird and Pele, mildfield never really gpt going and Bale looked as if he had played too many games recently (on that point he is an awesome player and the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Spurs would have not been bidding £8m for him in pre-season if he was not) ------------------------------------------------- I think it is time that you guys got off your high horse, we are one of the favourites to go up, we have spent alot of money this season and if we are to go up then we need to be beating teams such as yourself. I bet last season you were saying exactly the same when you were playing teams in the lower divisions. That is all.
I can't see how you are one of the favourites to go up, based on that performance..... If you are saying it is because you had 4-5 players missing that you didn't beat us, the im afraid you don't have the strength in depth to compete with the likes of Birmingham, West Brom, Palace!!! I'd be worried if we had spent £7 million and not got the in depth.

O.K, here we go again, another Barsley fan that, based on ONE performance thinks we have no chance of going up. We also have a BRAND NEW team, we have signed 12 layers in pre-season, it will take time for them to gel, as it would with any team who signed that many players, we are not worrying and will start looking at the tables after about 15 games when it matters.

None of the players you've signed really pulled up any tree's in the prem, that's why their clubs let them go.

If that type of attitude is prevalent throughout your club i can categorically state than you are more than likely to **** it up. Seen it happen so many times in this league - teams and clubs with that billy big ****** attitude more than often set themselves up for failure. Judging by your performance on Saturday - you're going the same way.

Gareth Bale was subject of bids from all 3 of them teams, he is already a full international (ableit for Wales), infact he has made as good, if not more of an impact for us than Walcott did.(Who we sold for £12 million incase you forgot.)
Fair comment........ But all that said, you will struggle for automatic promotion, a big club would have brought a lot more support than you lot, (very quiet by the way), and the first half you were simply cut to bits by a team hungrier for victory, second half you improved, when the overrated Bale was dicarded, Southampton, with the backing they have financially, will eventually get promotion, but, be prepared to be called a yo yo team, that is what you've become. I don't want to be drawn into a slagging match, I genuinely wish you well, we as a club know and respect our place in the grand order of things, you lot should do the same, in the Premiership, you would be considered whipping boys. Football is a Northern game, Southerners wear it as a fashion accessory, ponces one and all.
Have you ever thought of changing your support to Sheff Wednesday you've got all the right attributes,delusions of grandeur,'were a big club you know'weve got a big new ground,we ought to be able to be allowed to go straight back up cos we are better than anybody else etc (despite results proving contrary to any such theory) .And bet yer have right little tantrum stamping yer little feet an all that when yer do'nt win ...do'nt worry like I say the Wednesday scouts will pick you up no probs.(wnkr)

We have a new chairman and a board willing to back the team finacially, the club is now run by fans with plenty of money to invest (including Gavynn Davies who is reported to be investing £30m if we get promotion) We have a Premiership infrastructure and with all of the Insurance, Property services, Credit services, Radio Station, Retail etc etc that it under the "umbrella" of SFC it ensures that we will never be in financial trouble. The one and only thing to thank Rupert Lowe for. We spent 27 years in the top division so just because we have been relegated we are hardly a "yo-yo" team such as Norwich, West Brom etc. Once we go back up we have the money and facilities, fanbase to attract the players that will once again cement us in the top division.
