OOOF!!! Be careful coming on here criticising Alnwick. The Vultures will be circling for you .... You may suffer the ignominy of Ossettred "disliking" your post and having to waste the time opening your notifications to read it! I had my rant about him on Saturday. Like they guy above said, won't be the last. Just hope he learns from it. Can't imagine Keith was very happy with him.
I remember Trevor Aylott Childishly throwing his shirt at Allan Clarke, when he was substituted during the 2-1 home defeat to Portsmouth on the opening day of the 1980/81 promotion season. He later apologised to Clarke, his team mates and the supporters. What Aylott did was stupid, immature and totally unprofessional. After losing his place in the team for a few weeks and receiving a heavy club fine, he went on to play a huge part in our promotion and successful first season back in the Second Division. For me, Alnwick ought to show similar contrition to Aylott, fined by the club, warned about his future conduct and given another chance. Then it's up to the lad to show the same response as the true club legend did.
We are just bringing them into the club now prior to any court cases. Got to get them young and cheap before they turn into reight thugs because then we are looking at higher wages.
Re: He who is without sin I have never ever head butted a player during a game! I think it was stupid and purile and nearly cost us the game.
Bang on But he did apologise to Clarke, his team mates and the fans. Whether he'd have got back into the team any quicker under Clarke, though, is debatable. Personally, I think Clarke moving on to Leeds and Barnsley appointing Hunter probably saved Aylott's career at Oakwell. He certainly repaid the faith shown in him.
