And looked at the photos I took that evening when she was a mascot . Of all the players and management team who posed with her for a piccie , only Bobby Hassell and Paul Reid are still at the club under contract .
She was the mascot in April 2005 and , until I'd viewed the post again , I hadn't realised just how much has changed at Oakwell since that evening .

I think that's my main concern about the constant chopping and changing of managers - successful teams have a core of players that remain in place for seasons - our core of players last months.

Patience seems to be a virtue that both the Barnsley fans and Barnsley board lack...

Yes we need consistency!!! The amount of changing that takes place the club is very lucky to be in division 2!

    Or exist at all...

Every new manager is a new set of unwanted players drawing a first-team wage for playing in the reserves.

Sometimes though you have to recognise

when its time to cut your losses.

A lot of our young players have been around for a while and have not made the necessary progress.

We've been cutting our losses for ten years now, mate...

And unless Davey cuts the mustard next season we'll be cutting them again - the unrealistic expectations of both the board and the fans will see to that...

We've already got players who are unlikely to (at least regularly) kick a ball for the Reds drawing a wage every week while releasing decent players because they are not in the manager's plans (I'm not disagreeing with the decision but that's the way it is) - if Davey goes in November like Ritchie (not beyond the realms of possibility) then this time next year we'll be reading the same reports on the web-site...

I'm just getting a bit sick of the manager-go-round and a board and a set of fans who's only response to problems is to sack...

Bit harsh on the fans there. I cant remember anybody wanting the board to sack Ritchie. Some people agreed with the decision once it was made but nobody was calling for it.

There was plenty on here! Not just Ritchie but many managers passed. And that's not to say the fans were allus wrong, by the way, but I don't believe we're ever gonna get anywhere if we keep chopping and changing gaffers every season. People are calling for Davey's head already and we haven't even kicked off the new season!

    Patience, we don't have it!

Despite my last post I do agree with you. Lets just hope next season starts well as I would like SD to prove his critics wrong and remain in the job due to his success.

Definitely, mate - fingers crossed. And I hope the board prove me wrong and backs this one...
