Something along the lines of. Barnsley aren't solid defensively but we are so Wisemsn should be an asset. Not in those exact words though. Do they know they have Just signed out weak link? Worst right back soon at Oakwell I'm my time going. Own goals, no tracking back and inability to look like a footballer. And an own goal winner in the 96 min at Blackpool to add to that too.
Scott Golbourne own goal you mean. Wiseman's was against Millwall. If he joins PNE, they play Wolves on Saturday..
Just in from celebrating a good mates life so probably. And no, Wisemans own goal. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23558631
Wiseman didn't score the own goal against Blackpool, mate, the BBC got it wrong. See for yourself. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9rVXtaQUYA
Wiseman was awful begining of last season but turned it around and arguably our most consistent player in recent times... I will be disappointed to see that lad go, best of a bad bunch... Far better player than Kennedy, McNulty for starters
I think a lot of the criticism of Wisey is harsh. He suffered appalling and completely unjustified abuse, but put his head down and turned his game round. He's had a few dodgy games of late, but he's not alone. He's been one of our more consistent players, on the whole. Unfortunately, the boo boys still crucify him for any mistake. I wish him well, and while there's much better out there, he wouldn't have been the first to leave for me. Far more worried about TK Good luck Wisey Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
100% agree I also think the goal the goal he scored against Leicester ( which was incorrectly ruled off side by the linesman) is an example of the great football which he never gets credit for.
Agreed Ponty, but I personally think the way some are celebrating him leaving, is way over the top. I'll wait to see how his replacement gets on for us, before I pass judgment. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
As Mr C said, you have not been going to Oakwell all that long then! You started just before the Wilson Wonderland years so have become accustomed to a higher class of player donning the red shirt. Think how people like me who have been going since the 1960s see the likes of Scott Wiseman. He is a top class player compared to some of the performers we had in the 60s and 70s. He's not consistent enough, I admit, but he is a long way from the worst number two we have ever had. I shall be sorry to see him go in some ways but not too down about it. I think we can replace him from players already on the books to be honest, at least for this season. Good luck to him - I hope he gets on in his domestic and international career. Shame about the Gibraltar thing - always nice to have full internationals in your team.
Was one of our better players earlier in the season and in some games looks like a worldbeater. Let down by a lack of consistency land by a lack of a footballing brain and godawful positional sense. Hopefully more will follow him out of the for sometimes less is more.
the fact is clubs are not gunna take your worst players are they?? to reduce the wage bill you have to move on some "decent/average" squad members who clubs actually have a use for! then bring in new blood...why would anyone want tom kennedy or jim mcnulty? we're gunna have to accept that, personally I don't think it's a bad move, he's been very sloppy at times, and yes he has also had some good games like at Leeds away he kept mccormack very quiet especially in 2nd half but we need to get a new group now with fresh mentalities
Garbage People will write fu.c,kng owt on the internet. Turned what round? When was this period where we were anything other than **** at the back? He saw his a.rse against Reading at home 2 years back and Hill hauled him off, he's done nothing but hide ever since, pace without courage or ability makes for a terrible defender. Someone please FFS evidence this period where a Wiseman was half decent cos it's passed me by.
Re: Garbage Can't tell if you're on a shi.t wind up, didn't go to any matches towards the back end of last season or just know nothing about football. Back end of last season Wiseman was one of our most consistently good performers, playing very well in many games. I'm sure most will agree with that as well.
Load of old shonk Last two goals against.us last season were Wiseman classics, youtube it. We kept clean sheets with Hassell in the side, without him we leaked bad goals, Hull match aside.
Re: Load of old shonk Granted, he did make bad mistakes in those games. However, in other games he was solid. On 'the run' that we went on we didn't concede that often, and I think he played a part in that.
It's a myth that he became suddenly a decent defender Craine had a decent 2nd half of season and he's easy to mistake for Wiseman at distance, can be the only explanation. We ended up hanging on with 5 at the back towards the end, not surprised we've been so poor with the same defensive personnel.
