    The man who wrote that was clearly mental. Flemming gets a 5, and O'Connell a 4!

    Can you imagine the scores he'd give the current crop? I don't think there are enough negative numbers in the world.

    Don't it all seem to go that you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone.

    Hmmm. Those of us with good memories will recall that Redders was not held in quite the same esteem prior to the promotion season as he was after it. I have always argued he was a late developer and can clearly remember the frustration he and O'Connell used to provoke. That's why I always inwardly chuckle when I hear him described as our 'best ever player'.

    Carefull now, I posted a while back pointing out his limitations as a player and got quite a bit of abuse, so get ready.
    Was he an important part of our promotion squad, yes, along with other and better skilled players.
    A legend, not in my eyes.

    Surely every player who played a part in our promotion team we'd serves legendary status and as the fulcrum of that team Redders is out most influential ever player.

    Just had a quick check to make sure it weren't me that wrote that bit in SR luckily not!!!

    Care to elaborate?

    Neil Redfearn, local lad who worked his way up through the divisions leads unfashionable Barnsley to the Premier League for the first time ever in his twilight years by scoring a **** load of goals and marshalling a side cobbled together on a shoestring. Same player then tops the goalscoring charts in the top flight for midfielders.

    If he's 'not' a legend of BFC then who the chuff is?
