    Doesn't sound good!

I'm sure we'll be better next week though.

I went today and my thoughts are....

I don't think we look bad defensively at all. We were playing Dennis at left back to give Reidy a run out, but it was a bad mistake as he kept drifting out of position.

Ricketts has (sometimes) discovered the art of passing and worked well up the left flank with Werling in the second half.

I do agree with other comments on here about us lacking up front - Mostto is the sort of forward who needs a decent through ball and half a chance, but I'm wondering where that's going to come from. Stan's looked off the boil, Coulson doesn't seem to quite have "it" yet, and Odejayi whilst seriously bloody pacey can't seem to be in the right place at the right time often enough.

    We definitely need another striker.

I also think playing Howard and Johnson is a recipe for disaster. There were numerous times this afternoon where the middle of the park was empty. They are both players who like to run the midfield, and having both of them on the park means that neither of them will be able to do it. I'd much rather start with Howard OR Johnson, and Togwell or McCann.

Devaney - I dunno what's happened to him.

What was most disappointing for me was the fact that when we go up the park we don't seem to have a clear game plan - the players don't seem to have worked out what the others will be doing and thus we had lots of passes into empty space.

I'm not going to draw too many conclusions from what I've seen pre-season. To be honest whilst the results haven't been great I think there have been some signs of promise and I reiterate that defensively we look like we could be light-years ahead of last season. I will be most upset if Davey feels the need to haver to play Reid because he's club captain. I honestly think we'd be far better off with Dennis and Nyatanga in the middle. Dennis again today showed some excellent judgement - he looks up before pasing and makes a decision rather than hoof and hope.

    I'd get Kyel Reid in...

6 month loan, play him on the left with Ricketts on the right.

    Have to agree...

Would have Nyatanga and Souza at CH on Saturday but I suspect Reidy'll be in.
