First "foul" - didn't appear to touch him but he went down anyway to show the ref it was a foul. It was actually a superb tackle. Second one - my God, Kelvin didn't get near him. He put a hand out and MIGHT have caught the shoulder blade with a finger tip, if that, but Lua Lua went down clutching his leg with one hand and banging the ground with the other in mock pain. Now that is about as blatant as cheating gets and Brighton and the player should be punished for behavior like that. They cheated and simulated and fouled us all day and got away with virtually all of it. That sending off cost us two points because I think we could have got a winner with 11 on the pitch.
To be honest I think had we played until next week we wouldn't have scored. we set off well and had a lot if possession but goal chances were few and far between
I don't think the sending off changed the game, aside from the M'voto header we never really looked like scoring. The cynical fouling and play acting by Brighton was about as bad as I've seen this season as was the woefully inept referee.
To be honest, I thought Brighton where a disgrace and were lucky to not have a few sent off. There attacker should have gone whoever he was. Bad fouls after been booked and a number of there players acting like they had been shot to see a miracle recovery seconds later.
I wish the FA would actually do something about these types of teams and refs. But no diving is part of the game, not to mention the "being shot" esque move.
I don't think it changed the result as with 11 on the pitch we still wouldn't have scored if we were playing now but the antics of several Brighton players was shocking. Ulloa could have been sent off two or three times. Lua Lua's gamesmanship was particularly grating. Retrospective action I'm not holding my breath but this sort of attitude needs to be tackled.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b040rt29/The_Football_League_Show_2013_2014_05_04_2014/ The Barnsley game is from 36 minutes 30. For the second yellow, while at the game, I didn't think Etuhu tripped him, I thought he dived. However, I then heard Wilson's interview and read a few posts on here who all said there was a trip. There wasn't. He dived. I thought by watching it I'd feel better about the sending off. If anything I'm even more angry. It looks for all the world like the ref suddenly decided he wanted to dish out a red card and anyone would do, so he picked the first two challenges that came along. Shocking refereeing. We can't appeal, but I hope Danny's marks for the officials are in the minuses.
From where I sit in the East Upper tier I was almost sideways on to the incident and my initial reaction was that he took a dive. Interestingly the referee's assistant who would also have seen it sideways on didn't flag for an offence. The referee who had a view from behind would have seen Kelvin's arm reach forward and the Brighton player go to ground with, as the P. o. R. says, the slightest of touches.
If Kelvin could transfer this skill into rugby league he would be a superstar. One touch to the back and he went down like he had been hit by a sniper.

Having seen it again and still just as Angry as I was yesterday First booking - leaving aside the fact it wasnt a foul the booking could have been for kicking the ball away but i it was its even worse because they did exactly the same things several times - including one where we had placed the ball and were about to take a kick and their retreating attacked ran over the ball and knocked it away Second one Etuhju was the wrong side and Lita cut in front of him its possible that Kelvin might have touched him but there is no doubt that Lita was looking for the foul. I can understand why the ref gave the foul though there was no intent from Kelvin to foul him. and to be honest in that case a Yellow is often given. What was completely unacceptable in my eyes was the second foul on McClauglan when he was through, their player dived in and took him out, stone wall yellow card, but not given because it would have been a red. The blatant trip by their #19 after he had been booked - deliberate foul and stone wall yellow card, but not given instead he gets one of his final warnings because the ref doesnt want to send him off Yet Etuhu commits one debateable foul - even if it was it was accidental and ref goes straight for the card - thats downright dishonest - Had the 2 Brighton players been sent off I could have accepted it to to apply the laws clearly differently to both sides is just not on. Did it change the result - we will never know - it looked like it was heading for a 0-0 but we had just changed things and put Cywka on the wing and had even the option of say McCourt to come on for the last 10 mins but we had to sacrificeCywka to put on a replacement right back of bigger concern to me is will it change the result on Tuesday. Our defence has been great for the last 3 games and Kelvin at right back has been a siginificant contributer to that with his tackling and speed of recovery not to mention his all round play. He would have been a certain starter on Tuesday but now he cant play. That could easily cost us. Hunt isnt in the same class and i dont think McClaughlan is fully fit
Re: Having seen it again Agree with you all the way, Dave (other than the Brighton player was Lua Lua, not Lita!). If Hassell is fit, I'd go with him at right back as the only change to the team against Burnley, Hunt if he isn't.
