I was shocked to arrive home on Thursday night to be told "Unlucky! you played ok" by the missus who had had some friends round to watch the match.

Having watched Booth win every single header, Colgan persisting in hoofing the ball up field at every opportunity and the ball coming straight back and the amazing mix up for their goal I came home gutted bemoaning another "toothless" display.

Amazingly though I thought we looked somehow better on TV. Being at the game is the best place to be for the atmosphere but having calmed down and watching the game and the replays just provides a better and fair angle from which to view.

    Does anyone else agree?

I have to say given the performance, in the first half really and the chances Huddersfield had I feel we did well just to lose by one goal. we played better in the second half and it was dissapointing to concede such a soft goal. I fully agree with you we did not deal with booth in the air again and simply must do better on monday. You are spot on about us playing it long to Richards who won nothing really in the air. I feel we can take a lot from the game, we know we cant play it long to Richards because he wont win it, and we know given the display at their place we can cause them all kinds of problems and create chances. I was gutted at Full time but after taking time to reflect, even if we had drawn we would have had to go their and win, so nothing has really changed apart from we have to win by two clear goals to go through instead of one. I cant help feeling they will try to defend their lead which hopefully will play into our hands and an early goal from us could and will change the complection of the game totally. All in all its all to play for, and if we give it our all which im sure we will nobody can ask for any more. Good luck lads and all the best.

RE: Yes I do agree with you

I'm glad to see another person is suffering under the same illusion as me ! I was at Oakwell but asked the Missus to record the game off Sky. I thought, on the night, that 0-0 would have been the result that could "see us through" given that Huddersfield seemed to me the team who came closest on the night, so 0-1 was a blow. However, watching the recorded Sky coverage on Friday evening it was much closer than I saw on the night (not in terms of chances, but of coming close). I'm even prepared to forgive Devaney for what Sky, ultimately, described as a bobble when he hit the top of the cross bar when, from the East Stand Upper, it looked like a 5 yard push to Nardiello was a 125% certain goal !

Soton Tyke, Salisbury Tyke, and I will be in the Avondale on Carlton Road in Southampton tomorrow night to cheer The Reds on to Cardiff (I'm not sure the players will hear us!), but any other Reds in exile in the area are welcome to join us............
