Robins has some serious work to do on the training pitch to sort out that..... It was shambolic at best

1st goal - No challenge, just let the fecker run.

2nd goal - The RB? Doyle - should have picked up the runner.

    3rd goal - Unstoppable.

4th goal - Preece's fault, needs a new pair of gloves.

5th goal - Failed to clear the ball.

*Everyone of those goals could have been avoided. Over to you Mr. Robins... :)S)

The Midfield was non-existant in most of those goals. But we have the little Argentinian as stopper don't we.

Apparantly he was allowed to run with it and no tackle was commited, so you are wrong.

Doesn't matter if we have 3 new defenders or 11 new defenders in, their job is to hoof the fcuker out, not as if they don't know the position they played today. They didn't do that, simples.

Preece looked all over the place for most of those

Shame because he's played well up to now. No defence in front of him like.

In my opinion the midfield should take massive responsibility for our piss poor

defensive record over the last few seasons. Its the midfield's job to protect the defence. The amount of times I have seen players just glide past Hugo Colace, Anderson et al with nothing close to a tackle amazes me.

But when we get a Tinkler type player the fans hound them out of the club

Thinking back to 1990 when I started going, the workhorse midfielder who does all the ugly stuff has always been the brunt of grief from the fans when things go wrong.

Agreed. Hugo isn't up to the role of DM either, powder puff tackles and fairy step running. He can hardly pick a pass, and he's extremely weak for someone who's meant to be a stopper - knocked off the ball too easily.

Saw the goals first-hand yesterday, and now on Sky Sports News.

1st goal - QPR player allowed to run at us unchallenged, and allowed free shot.

2nd goal - Piss poor defending, naive. Two Barnsley players go to one QPR player, who simply threads the ball inside our full-back to an unmarked runner. Preece gets a weak hand to the cross shot and it goes in. Goalkeeper + defence at fault.

3rd goal - The so called "wonder strike". Their player had all the time in the world to shoot, no Barnsley player within 5 yards of him. Our nearest defender just stood off - as in the 1st goal.

4th goal - Preece fumbles - at fault.

5th goal - Unsure of what happened, typical goalmouth scramble when we didn't clear.

Basic stuff like all players - defenders, midfielders and forwards, quickly closing down the opposition players needs to be drilled in by M.R.

You do realise that 3 of yesterday's 4 defenders are on loan?

So what do we do, give them a couple of months to gel and ship a load of goals only for them to return to their parent clubs?

I've never been a big fan of loan players. I don't mind one or two over a season, but to have three of your back 4 as loan players, particularly when they are all so young and inexperienced, seems extremely short sighted to me. To give them time in the team and hope they will gel like you are suggesting strikes me as down right foolish.

For me, loan players should be right up to speed and capable of injecting a fresh impetus in to your side straight away. I see nothing to be gained from giving inexperienced lads time to settle at the risk of losing a few games only to see them return to their own clubs when they are finally up to speed.

RE: You do realise that 3 of yesterday's 4 defenders are on loan?

I wouldn't say they're completely inexperienced - Dickinson, for one, was Stoke's regular left back in their promotion season.

I think it's more a case of them not having played - or trained - together as a unit before.

If that's the case they should quickly get it together.

About as short sighted as starting the season with five defenders - if he's inherited a weak squad thanks to the previous incompetent and the window is shut what else can he do?
