    only twice since the premiership season have we scored more than 7 points in the first 5 games</p>

    we aren't doing too bad</p>

    remember</p>

    Barnsley 6-0 Portsmouth followed immediately by </p>

    Ipswich 6 -1 Barnsley</p>

    and we still made the playoffs!!</p>

    my point was

    a heavy early season loss doesn't necessarily preclude a good final position in the table</p>

    nowhere did I suggest the playoffs were nailed on because of a 1-5 drubbing</p>
