Booked our Holiday flights went all the way through to the verifying my details on credit card (additional £7 ( ) and got back a flight sold out message please rebook on another flight. Went back through the whole process to find I had to pay an extra £35 Wonder if someone really did get in and book in the 5 mins it took me to fill out the form, or if BA are a bit slow in updating the prices and only update once someone tries to actually book the flight rather than when you inquire
I was underwhelmed by T5 to be honest T5 Plus points - getting through security really was less than 10 mins on a Monday morning - BIG PLUS actually - points - you dont get a sense of scale - expected something more like the terminals in Hong Kong or Singapore which I found much more impressive - disappointed with the quality - monitor and PA broken already at the gate I used checkin staff had to shout - first 2 toilet cubicles I tried had broken seats As for BA - in the first 3 months of this year 45% of flights were delayed by more than 15 mins - the worst of any airline in Europe. My random sample of one flight was 2 hours late because they had "overfuelled the plane" Also usually I find BA much more expensive for short hall European flights than SAS, Lufthansa or KLM flying them twice more in the next few weeks unfortunately - to Rome (not flying Alitalia) and Geneva (no one else flys direct from Heathrow + Easyjet from Gatwick no cheaper anyway)
Interesting . I always find BA cheaper, significantly so than SAS And much better though i did go through a period at the start of the year / end of last year when 18 flights in a row were delayed from 20min to over 3hours. but since T5 I love them again
Just to really piss me off Just rechecked the BA website and my flight is back £35 cheaper so yesterday evening good price, 9am this morning same price ( I then investigated alternatives + did some work) 11am this morning still same price 11:05am price goes up £35 whilst entering my details 15:00 price back down to original Trying to decide if its worth the effort of complaining -they do claim to refund the dfference if you can find the same flight cheaper on any other website - wonder if they count their own. Oh and BA are better than SAS if flying economy they arent great I must admit - Economy Flex is better - the times I fly usually at shortish notice BA are significantly more expensive though
Yay a reply from BA Price promise Loosely translated as "**** off you peasant" Anyone complaining about our football clubs poor customer relations ought to try this shower Point one is incorrect by the way - why would I not select the cheapest option?? the Website doesnt give an option for " a bit more than the cheapest" - its either cheapest of fully flexible which was about 4 times the price Love the last line - actual response as follows Thank you for submitting your claim for the British Airways Price Promise. We have reviewed your claim and have found that it does not fit the necessary criteria for the following reasons: 1) The British Airways flight that you have purchased on ba.com was not the least expensive option available at your time of purchase. 2)A 'Competing Website' is a website other than ba.com. We are therefore unable to accept your claim. I fly every week and find Luthansa beat BA in every aspect of short haul flying.... only fly economy tho. I still cant believe BA pulled out of Birmingham Airport
When I was regularly flying to Germany I found the same - Lufthansa beat BA hands down on short haul flights Currently I am mostly flying to Norway - SAS are not as good as Lufthansa - in fact once you are on the plane they are not even a match for BA on cheap tickets - but they are cheaper and more punctual Trouble is only BA fly direct to Geneva from Heathrow. I could have gone EasyJet from Gatwick but they were about the same price once you added in luggage and jumping on the plane first in and the flight times werent as good - wishing I had gone with them anyway now.
Lufthansa have the best air miles package by far........ their credit card is tops for the added miles too.... it mounts up. Finally the germans tend to have a better class of serving totty.... bit stern, but you would. When BA flew out of Brum their customer relations / service were hoorendous.... horrible airline
I miss Tyrolean Used to fly them quite a bit in Austria. Got taken to court over their rule of only using young fit birds as Stewardesses, but 15 years ago you were guarenteed decent Totty on board. Havent flown them for ages but I know they were forced to take on Stewards and "more experienced" ladies as well
