for giving his vest to my son , so he could take it up to the hospital for his brother. (raiseaglass) (raiseaglass) (raiseaglass)
Chris was devastated to be admitted to BDGH yesterday knowing he would miss the match. His Asthma is mostly under control, but it does flare up when he is under stress (not good for a Reds fan eh?).
    So thanks again NICK COLGAN,Chris really appreciated the gesture (Y) (Y) (Y) (Y) (Y)

    indeed he is

I went down to Perry's to get my shirt signed when all the players went down after their sponsorship was renewed. Not that I'm saying anything bad about the rest of the squad, but Nick took the time out for a chat with everyone.

    truly a top bloke

Incredible mate, really top drwer. 2 saves in fact, but the one point blank on the line was true quality.

Everybody I ever speak to who have met Nick Colgan...

...say exactly the same thing - apparently the bloke has time for anyone and is always prepared to talk to the fans. Say what you like about his performances - he sounds like a real, down the Earth, friendly guy...

I'd rather have a decent keep who was a lovely person to the fans. nt

    He is a decent keeper...

It just seems to be in the nature of Barnsley fans to want a convenient hate-figure when things aren't going well...

All this talk about Nick Colgan...............

it proves that perhaps we should take a person on how we find him rather than how others see him. :) :) :) :) :) :)

Doesn't help his confidence. His defence have made it hard for him ... and the replacements for Colgan have been worse

Would you have Lucas or Vimto [sic] back between the posts?

    Furthermore...

I wouldn't - Barnsley Football Club is part of, and representative, of our community and, by extension, so are the players. I can understand players seeking privacy on a day to day basis, as is their right, but players who do not take time to include the fans when it's appropriate have no place at the club - simple as...

yeah but what would you rather have...

A class keeper who saves our arse and is a private person and doesnt give much to the community...or a ***** keeper who costs us loads of points but off the field is a real gent who visits barnsley general in his spare time?

    Both...

Which is what we've got - Colgan is a gent and has saved our jacksie on more than one occasion.

There's a difference between being a private person and a lovely person to the fans, as you initially said, and I wouldn't accept a player who is a lovely person to fans has a place at Oakwell...

I've said it before and Ill say it again

if Nick Colgan was as good at commanding his box as he is a shot-stopper, he wouldn't be playing for Tarn.</p>

    Simple as.

Kept us in the hunt yesterday ....

even when some of the so called heroes had given up the ghost (playing right midfield at one point!!).

The Ponty End went silent thinking LCFC were 2 up but Colgan pulled off a massive save.

Not that we could convert any of them chances to make it more memorable

I've met the guy and I endorse the other comments - he is a true professional which is why the talentless tossers who post on here abusing him get on my tits.

But then we stayed up, its been a good weekend so why let them get to you?

    :D
