Seems to know what we need. But can he do or get what we need?? Agree that we can not carry passengers and although Paddy is an amazing talent I doing think we can afford him in our team. What does people think? One thing that stands out is how he doesn't know what he's got to work with..... Or is he just saying that???? Yeah we have no money but on nemerous occasions and in previous interviews he couldn't answer questions about the board ANC what HD has to work with.... I've seen on on another post about Brek, does he have any control about who comes in??? He openly admitted he was an unknown quantity for them and even us. Sounds like he didn't know much about him???? What's peoples take on our future??? We may have the right man but do we have the rite board backing him????
I do believe that Cryne has always been a fan of Danny and wanted him to come just before we appointed Hill but Danny was blinded by the big lights of the big city and went to the Blunts instead. I dont think he was appointed as a cheap option but the best guy for the job so I expect that PC and the board will back him as well as they can with whats left after Flicker spent it all
First of all we can NOT carry anyone. Mellis is class on the ball but will at least get back and cover areas. The TEAM before any single PLAYER. He does know what there is to work with i feel but doesnt want to tell people. he said there enough to get 3/4 players in without having to sell anyone
I agree with your summery of him not wanting to tell people and I agree with Farnham but does he have the control that is needed or are the board being corsious after what happened with flicker??
I know your latest anti-McCourt thread got pulled by admin, but please remember that Danny Wilson made exactly the same comment about both Mellis & McCourt. He said Mellis also needed to work on that part of his game. He actually said it first, when discussing Jacob Mellis, then went on to repeat the same when asked about McCourt.
Listen back. Part one he says Mellis does go back and cover areas although he doesnt jump into tackles which is fine. Also im anti nobody.
Sorry but Mellis has a lot more to do in a red shirt to ever be called class.....Hot and cold would sum him up better.
"With Jacob, a lot of people have this preconception that because they have talent, they don’t have to work…we need him for 90 minutes, and Jacob comes into that category…he’s a terrific talent, there’s no doubt about it…I love his ability and can understand the qualities he’s got...but the other side of his game, if he gets the other side of his game, he’ll be a top top player" He then goes onto say he showed that in the Birmingham game. You just hear what you want to hear.
If it was me, Mellis would be first name in midfield and I would build around him. Give him the responsibility, it may be the making of him?
He's not met him yet, maybe he thinks that's his real name based on how many times Mellon has potentially said it?
