rubbish! never made a control losing ball all time and missed 2 sitters, 1-0 (Heslop)</p> Best player so far, centre half Atkinson is name?</p>
Played on Saturday, trained this morning, and then he's playing for the Reserves. I thought that the great Ritchie was bringing him back to fitness slowly? (lol)
RE: Reserve football and training Well these days there’s a lot of people coming into football, chairman and owners who think they know football and they don’t. But they’ve got the money and unfortunately I had one of those at Oldham who felt he knew the game more than I did and we were at loggerheads. In the end I was offered the job of Director of Football but for me director of football means David pleat, I’ve got nothing against David I’m just saying about the age, for me to be 34, 35, 36 and to be asked to be director of football I felt ooer I’m a little bit young to be that. He didn’t want me to carry on as manager and I was sacked. But I think we were 7th at the time so I don’t think we were doing too badly but you know that’s the way football is now there’s a lot of people who think they know a lot about it and the blunt answer is they don’t.</p>
Its a fact thats why. Youth-team , Reserves and training , its only in the 1st team arena that you find out how good a player actually is.
when youve been injured for 3 months you need as many matches as possible to get your match fitness up.
Chuckle You really like this statement , don't you ? I've a feeling in my water that it will be issued on quite a number of occasions in the very near future .
RE: Chuckle Some people cannot see that opinions are just that and lose sight of the fact that Ritchie et al actually have to put things into practice and manage.
And don't forget Andy Ritchie has been in the industry all his working life , so there's a distinct possibility he may know what he's doing and what he's talking about .
My comment may have been better phrased, like Nads played on Saturday,Trained at 11.00 Monday morning and then played for the Reserves at 2 pm in the afternoon. Perhaps that may explain why he didn't play upto your standard in the 1st half.
Can't have been Ritchie. saying that ..................................................... Not enough "um's" and "er's" in that snipet. Counted 53 in his Friday interview before I got fed up.
Lets not let the facts get in the way of the board football intelligentsia's critique.</p> "but you know that’s the way football is now there’s a lot of people who think they know a lot about it and the blunt answer is they don’t."</p> wonder who he was on about?</p>
