If his Reading move were still on, would that be the deal to finance Andy Gray and Adam Hammill and would there still be some spare for another couple, such as Darrell Russell (rumoured to be going to Burnley, but attacking midfielder who can also play striker), O'neill Thompson and, say, Billy Sharp (rumoured to be going to Brighton!!! and made available for transfer by Blunts). Would folk think that merry-go-round to be a good deal? Some Norwich folk still reckon that we are in for Cureton now that they have signed another striker. Worth the punt? I think that this is speculation and would not think him worth a fee, given his age, but could do a job on the bench for us.
hope JCR signs this new contract so he is tied to us and we dont get that money. But i get your point and i would like to see 1 player go for a big fee to get 3 or 4. i think gray and hammil are sorted barring stupid personell terms or charlton having huge takeover. I personally would love us to sign sharp but cant see brighton forking out a mil for him. as for Cureton think he is best off moving down the leagues, dont get me wrong he has an eye for goal but would have hefty wages. expensive for a sub
So you think we could Andy Gray, Hammill, Billy Sharp, Darrel Russel & this Thompson kid for what we'd get for JCR? We'd get 750k. Maximum of £1 million. We're looking at that for Gray and Hamill, never mind the rest.
If we got upwards of one million quid for him I'd get shut, as I probably would for each of our players.
