    FANS OF THE WEEKEND
I COULD pick supporters worldwide after the reaction to the news about Gary Speed.

But Leeds fans in particular deserve a special mention for the way they have conducted themselves.

They have also inspired their team to two big wins in the last week — against Nottingham Forest and Millwall — in what has been a very emotional time for everyone.

    GOAL OF THE WEEKEND

MALAURY MARTIN'S goal was a top-drawer free-kick for Middlesbrough — and it won them the game at Bristol City.

David James is a fine goalkeeper and he was on the right side of the goal for it.

But like Darren Ambrose showed at Old Trafford, the ball can pick up pace halfway through when it is in the air.

A good free kick in a season of them so far.

    TEAM OF THE WEEKEND

IT is a difficult one when you consider Watford won from being a goal down against Ipswich — but I'm going to give it to Barnsley.

They almost threw away a three-goal lead when Peterborough stormed back, then Craig Davies scored the decisive goal. To muster the winner after that comeback was very difficult.

    MANAGER OF THE WEEKEND

EDDIE HOWE gets the top prize this week.

His Burnley did not play that well but beat West Ham at what Sam Allardyce is so good at — set-plays.

That earned them a big win against the second-top team in the Championship.
