How good ( or bad) is the Scottish Premier League? Kane Hemmings who could not buy a goal in the English League 1 has just scored his 24th goal,of the season for Dundee. Is it the same player?

Maybe same player with a manager who knows how to get the best out of him.

Football doesn't work like that does it

Do you think that Mr Hemmings was essentially a talented freescorer who was held back by his Barnsley manager?

Correct B L. If only some people were to stop and look at the bigger picture they might see players and the game its self in a different way.

Remember Torres. Great player and went to Liverpool and couldna kick hes own arse. And yet he is still a great player. That's football

Do you mean when he went to Chelsea? He was very successful at Liverpool

To Chelsea, he was clinical at Liverpool. Scored a good few in recent weeks for Atletico as well.

I don't know mate but what ever it was at Barnsley it just didn't work out for him. It happens in football.

Things just didn't work out for him unfortunately. Think it was in no small part due to being injured throughout pre season. If he came back to us in League 1 now I reckon he'd get 15-20 in a season

Yes sorry, my mistake. Just trying to put over the point that some player will do well at some clubs and not others.

But this is exactly the point. He possibly might not. Might always be in the back of his mind that he could not cut it at Oakwell. Best not go there.

Saw him a few times. He scored the odd standout classy finish.

It's de rigeur on here to rubbish Scottish football.

Yet Rangers and Celtic over the years have never been pushovers in European ties.

He definitely has something and Dundee and Paul Hartley have found it.
Yes he is scoring for fun in our league. Not the best state our league has ever been in but not as bad as some would like to believe. Even given that he plays for the "enemy" across the road I must take my hat off to him in giving him credit the way he has been playing and scoring.

I'm not suggesting he'd come back, just that if he played at this level he'd be much more successful next time

Didn't think he was awful for us. Didn't get many starts.

    Scored a cracker against York.

I reckon he'd have had a better season here this year than last.

I rated him. I was in a tiny minority.

I thought he was alright too. Came from a terrible level of football straight to a tough league for a newly relegated club where he had the pressure of playing for a club expected to challenge for promotion at first time of asking. He showed plenty of glimpses and this season would have come on even more with guys like Watkins and Hammill improving the service to him that last season started and ended with Hourihane.
