Carlisle boss Neil McDonald is hoping star striker Karl Hawley will stay with the club by signing a new contract. Hawley, 25, was League Two's top scorer last year and has found the net on 10 occasions this season. "He's attracting a lot of attention. But Carlisle are fulfilling his dreams. This is the highest level he's ever played at," McDonald told BBC Sport. "There's no point losing sleep over it if he says no to a new deal. We'd just have to find someone as good as him." Hawley, who joined the Cumbrian side from Walsall in 2004, caught the eye of Wolves boss Mick McCarthy recently but he is believed no longer to be interested in the striker. McDonald added: "We're eager to get players in before the end of the January transfer window deadline. "It could be a forward, midfielder, defender. Could a few players or just one, but at the moment I just can't say."
