Was it only Young Nudger, Jay and myself that were advocating putting Antony back in his right position? From what I recall, you all wanted a defender, Hassell, Austin or Reid to be McPhail's partner in CMF. So when it comes to knowing about football, there's Young Nudger, Jay, Andy Ritchie and me!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like the line up for 'X-Men 3'

Average.

Just that really. Average.

Too many times his ***** control or him trying to go for the 30 yard pass cost us possession. But i cannot complain about his workrate, neither can i complain about the two passes he sent for Nardi and Richards to create the 2 goals.

Howard any day of the week.

Dunt think I can be included in that

I'm a big fan of Kay, but I thought he should be kept in defence where he's done so well this season. Having said that, I think he was the best option we had for midfield on Saturday, but I'd bring Howard back and move Kay to centre half for the next game.

Kay has made that position his own. It's Reid that is the weak link now I think.

I never thought the day would come when I would prefer Kay to Reid but that day has arrived.

I think Kay has been terrific this season.

Im not sure Ritchie knows his best team

if everyone was fit, I bet he'd drop Austin and put Hassell to right back. he seems to try to accommodate players. Hassell and Kay are the best centre back partnership, almost everyone would agree. but can you seem him leaving Reid AND Carbon out? a manager should always play his best team.

I think Ritchie and Holden should be given some credit for that

I've always rated Kay, but last season he was definitely losing his way. Silly mistakes were becoming a regular occurrence, while he always appeared to be slating his team-mates. He's cut the mistakes out now and his natural exuberance is used to encourage his team-mates, not berate them. I guess the work the manager and coach have done with him on the training field has helped that, along with the fact that he isn’t moved to a different and unfamiliar position each week.

For the Bournemouth game

He kept Hassell and Kay in despite Reid being fit. Problem Ritchie's had is that everytime we've got what looks to be a settled centrehalf partnership, one of them gets injured.

Aye, against 10 men and a poor defence, Kay fails to make an impact

FFS.

Disctinctly average.

Better at CH. (did I say that? surely not.[IMG])

i thought our midfield was v poor on saturday!

A big gaping hole in the middle. Oh how we missed Burns!

And the back 4 were worse off without Kay in it!

Another 2 points went beggin saturday!

Infamous One.....I'll second that

Earlier post said Reid is injury prone...........but so is Carbon
But these two are good when they play along side each other
Kay is better centre midfield but we rarely see him there
Although he isn't injury prone he has had a spell out injured
When he does play he is usually pushed into a position such as centre back which he can do but for me he is most effective in mid field
Burns has occupied that position - but Kay is better
Kay has more height, so he is more valuable in attack and in defence, and he can score. Plus he releases the play better to front players. Hence the penalty we got on Satdi.
We haven't seen the best from Kay now for 2 seasons because of Kays ability to play in different positions
Get Kay in midfield week after week and we have a really good and valuable player on the books
I have watched Jagielka, who is a similar player, on the tele a few times and Kay is the better player
Whineock says Jageilka is worth £4 million
PS. did you see my post on Sunday............
Rio Ferdinand has started to make mistakes, in my view because he has been taken out of his natural position and asked to play elsewhere in the side.
Not saying Kay is a Ferdinand but you know what I mean here
