What an utter joke. No wonder the people of Barnsley get ill-fated stick off the residents of neighbouring areas, and the country as a whole. I mean, come on - York City away in a pre-season friendly; And people are booing. How very immature. Why do some people support this club? It defies sense; I mean fair enough, if Mr Odejayi had gone round to their houses and pissed on their kids, then fine, heckle him, boo him, shout racial abuse at him. I wouldn't be pleased about it either. But what has he done (and other players too) to deserve the type of treatment that the so called supporters of Barnsley F.C open heartedly throw at him week in, week out. He's a football player. That's all. He's not a Russian War Criminal. He's not a Paedophile. He's not a Serial Killer. He's not the Unabomber. He's not Jack the Ripper. He's a football player. That's all. I am of the football playing persuasion, I've played at a decent level since I was 8 years old. I know how hard it can be at times, things don't always go your way. I play the game because I enjoy it and because I want to do well, I try my best. I do so week in, week out. When things aren't going your way, the last thing you need is someone behind you shouting and balling about how crap you are. It does'nt help. Contrary to belief, it really does'nt. I understand that a lot of you love the club, and that, most of you have never played a proper game of football in your lives, but yet because you play Championship manager and read Match of the Day magazine, you know the game inside out - and of course you could do better on the pitch than 'that waste of f**king space'...Of course. It's common sense. Pure common sense. We all make mistakes, we all do - we are of course, human. We never stop learning, it's a never ending process. If Kayode isn't good enough for the club, then so be it, he tried his best and all the very best to him, but I feel the lad has potential to be a great asset for the team. He's strong, he's quick and he's willing. His one critiscism is his finishing, he needs to work on that big time, but I feel this is solely down to consistent confidence, not only from him, but from the fans. Getting on his back will do nothing, it won't make him play better - so STOP doing it. It's moronic, not only in the grand scheme of things, but in general. Do you go around berating people on the street? What; you do? Well stop it! It's idiotic, it's uncalled for. Get behind the team, positivity breeds confidence, and confidence breeds results. Everyone, all over the world needs support, and positive support is by far the greater good. Ask yourself, next time you start to open your feeble little minds. Next time that mind tries to connect with your mouth: WHAT AM I GOING TO ACHIEVE BY BOOING THE PLAYERS ON THE PITCH? - Is it going to help them achieve victory? Thus allowing me to enjoy my day, and get my monies worth? Or - Is it going to negate the possibility of said victory? Thus stopping me from enjoying my day, and putting me in a pissy mood for the rest of the weekend? I think the answer is clear. Come on people, stop and think. Use your heads for once and get behind them. COME ON YOU REDS!!!
people pay their good hard earned money sureley there entitled to their own opinion. KO doesnt miss the odd sitter he misses alot of them. Some of the abuse he gets is unacceptable but some is justifiable even tho in no way shape or form does it help the player or the team fans pay their hard earned money to watch the game and players get paid enough to take it. if you put 11 fans on the pitch although quite clearly they wont be good enuf they would die for the cause KO just doesnt seem to be interested as long as he gets his 2k at end of week hes fine. I dont abuse KO yes sometimes a take the piss out of im but he must have summat abart im if SD is going to play im all the tym wer all just running out of patience
We have a long history of booing our own Used to be all the local lads - Agnew , Eaden etc but it seems we've moved on! Ko isn't that a player - quite effective when he comes on and causes defenders problems - especially in the last 10-15 minutes of a game!
So true, just like I do. However, I'm not talking about people having the right to voice their opinion, for that's a given. I'm talking about (like you touched on) the fact, that booing does'nt do a god damn thing to help the team. If anyone can prove to me, that booing, heckling, jeering, does ANYTHING to help the team. I'll concede defeat. But until then, it is seriously, moronic. Is it so hard to try and lift someones spirits when they aren't doing so well? Is it? Fair enough, he earns 2k a week - brilliant, he's done well for himself. Does that mean he deserves booing? I really don't think so.
He didn't moan when he was hailed as a hero for scoring THAT goal. So he should be prepared to accept the flak when he lets the side down, week in, week out. Most people would take barrelfuls of verbal abuse for that kind of money.
Nice one. I've only got food... ...but I'll check my fridge for urine traces before the first game of the season.
