Keane asked if he thought anyone in the press conference thought it was a penalty and if I was there (and had the balls to do so) would have said yes! I had a perfect view from the Eaststand Lower and Smith threw himself in front of Hume bringing him down and making no attempt to play the ball! Definite penalty! It was missed so it was academic but he complained about the ref who actually helped them!! It wasn't a foul by Big Daz for their goal, It should have been a red card for the foul on Boris (think it was Priskan??) and the same player was lucky not to get a second yellow for a foul on Dicko, and dispite what Keane said about the free kick that led to our winner, it was a definite foul yet again......sometimes it's just easier to blame the ref!!
agree with everything you said except............ I thought it was handball-the ball definitely changed direction
RE: agree with everything you said except............ perhaps we should have had two pens then one for the handball and one for the trip. From my view it was a definite trip but didn't see the handball
watching it again on the bbc sport website it does look like handball aswell! like I said tho, from where I was sat it was a definite trip!
I didn't see either Not that I'm complaining like, although I think I'll have a complain at Hume's penalty which was just bloody rubbish.
Same here.. deffo not a penalty and even after watching it back the player doesn't trip Hume and l can't see a handball anywhere.
RE: Neither can I if you sky + it- there is definitely a push on the ball but I doubt the ref could have seen it? I guess he gave the "trip" which it wasn't
I thought the penalty decision was harsh I would have been a bit upset had that been given against me.
RE: I thought the penalty decision was harsh where were you sat? For me, it was a deliberate trip and a "stone waller"
RE: I thought the penalty decision was harsh I wudnt go as far as a stone waller, I reckon technicaly it wo a penalty so I dunt think any manager should be complaining bart it, especially as it wo missed so it advantaged them more than us, I think some refs gi em some dont its part of game, jamie mccombes foul at newcastle wo a stone waller and that werent given, keanes side isnt good enough and he knows it and hes trying to blame officials as his way out a bit like davey used to do
Yes or no, we missed it... ...so it cancels itself out. Looked one or the other to me. Nice to nick the 3 points with the last kick though. Maybe as well as other benefits, MR is a lucky manager.
I sit in the East Stand Lower I didn't think it was penalty at the time and I just saw the highlights too - it didn't really change my mind. To be honest, it looked a complete accident. One thing I noticed on the highlights was a possible handball by the defender when he hit the ground. Any idea what the ref actually gave it for?
I sit in the West Upper And though it looked like a clear handball at the time Less convinced there was a penalty to be given for the trip Still dont know which the ref gave it for. We missed it anyway so it wasnt a game changing event. I didnt think that the foul that led to their goal should have been given - the ref let a lot of fouls by defenders on attackers (and vice versa) go but for some reason picked on that what seemed a fair challenge to give a foul to them for I also thought that the foul from which we scored was one of the more blatant fouls. In fact didnt the ref even book their player for it. Not having Keene blaming the ref for that game - thought he was inconsistent but the one game changeing decision he got wrong gave them a goal
The tactic of a desperate man trying to focus attention on an incident that had no bearing on the result - to deflect attention from the fact that his team, and his management of it, is *****.
RE: Whether it was a pen or not is entirely irrelevant, as it was not converted anyway, hence it has absolutely zero bearing on the result. Next excuse Roy?
