To all the usual johnny come lately's who will no doubt turn out for their usual last game of the season.

The FA will be watching, any crowd invasion will result in a fine and possible points deduction next season, this is due to the earlier encroachment and the throwing incident from the East lower.

The Police will be arresting anyone caught on the pitch and the club will be banning all guilty parties for life.

The players will return to do applaude the faithfull so long as no one has come on the pitch, if they do the players won't come back out.

So to all the faithfull out there, if you see someone gearing up to sprint on the pitch and spoil it for the rest give em a slap !!!!

    Cheers

    Unfortunately

You're pissing in the wind with that. I remember being a young un in the Ponty back when it was standing, and the whole game was basically spent waiting until it was running on the pitch time. Dumb really, it annoys me now when nobheads do it but guess we're old farts on here.
If they'd only wait a few minutes while the players have a chance to walk round, then leave the pitch. Once the berks are on the pitch, they never know what to do anyway.
And as for the fans,...hoho etc.

do you know if the police will be proactive in stopping fans from going on the pitch this year?

I think they're gonna try, but unless you have about 300 police and stewards its difficult. plus this would cost the club a small fortune which would defeat the object of the low ticket prices.

I do know that they will arrest and ban every one they catch, unfortunatley that won't bother the pricks that only go once a year on the last game.

I know the club have upgraded the CCTV to record everyone and get a close up of their face.

Like I say, if you see some spotty hoody going for it give him a slap mate...

It has annoyed me in the past when the final game hasn’t meant much and fans run on just because its the last game, always spoils it because the players never come out....

However if we stay up tommoz then for the first time since the Bradford game there will be a REAL reason to run on the pitch and celebrate, I for one wont complain this year :) Should the game go to the wire and we win it (or leeds or Hull lose it) in the last ten mins the atmosphere would be very loud and even the moaners like me might get up have a good old pitch invasion. I cant see the FA fining us should there be a real reason to celebrate.

….should we lose though ill probably stay seated and complain to the misses about the little blighters. “Look at that one, hes run around the pitch twice! Hasn’t got a clue, GET OF THE PITCH YOU IDIOT!!!..... lets go home im bored now….”

Nice one. As a little tip, I suggest that the line of police and horses and generally 99.9999% of the police presence at Oakwell tomorrow directs its attention to where the trouble makers are EVERY week of every season at oakwell rather than making a 50foot deep barrier in front of the away stand with their backs turned to the invading ponty end.

Just a little suggestion like :D lol

Apart from anything else, there are still games to be played on the pitch.

Nobody felt the need to run onto the pitch at the millennium stadium last season after such a great victory, why do they suddenly feel the need to do it at oakwell?

RE: So I was right in what I said could happen

Apart from it being against the law? Apart from it meaning that the players wont come back out? Apart from it meaning that it messes the pitch up for the games still to play on it? Apart from the increased security costs?

    No problem at all

Well if peaple werent so pathetic it wunt be a problem! Really whats the security risk? Whats the need for the players to hide away? and a few reserve matches and the like to play big deal! People should lighten up!! Yeh its against law...but its last match of season and no harm done!

Well said. Achieving promotion people stayed off the pitch. Yet tomorrow people want to run on? How about they don't risk us getting into trouble with the FA again and stay off. My email in the week to Joanne Jackson was read and replied to briefly.

The big deal is that it is a criminal offence to go onto the pitch

and BFC will be punished for not taking the appropriate action and stopping it. The punishment could be a fine and points deducted from the start of next season. After struggling to stay up this season (hopefully) do we want a disadvantage to next year?

The FA are monitoring BFC after trouble that has already happened this season, they will not turn a blind eye to more.

If you owned a business, say a shop, and had already been warned for wrong doings (say selling cigs/booze to underage people) and a member of staff still allowed the wrong doings to occur which meant you as the owner were fined or shut down, would you then say "Well it was always going to happen as kids will be kids"?

Sorry but why should any "fan" put BFC under threat of further action by the FA and the Police?

Yes I agree if it means we will get into trouble suppose we shouldnt do it! But disagree that we should...its a good last match of season tradition that has been stamped out! Its only a bit of fun!

aye agree matey! but the law wasnt designed to stop last match of season fun!!? It was designed to make playing field safe during the season and to make sure people do not do it all the time! I cant see what harm is done myself apart from authorities being so uptight about it! the load of killjoys
