So what do we think will happen re; the goalie situation? With Muller injured, Colgan sold to Ipswich and Warner cup tied/only here for a month, that leaves Letheren....? Lethern is young and a good prospect, however he lacks experience and would not fill me with comfidence going in goal as first choice for cup tie vs Liverpool (no offense intended Kyle). But Warner will no doubt be first choice for league games and so Ltheren will not have played many first team games. Also if warner is only here for the month, we have no back up........ perhaps SD has something else up his sleeve of Muller's injury not as bad as first thought (club Doc said min 6-8weeks) thoughts please
Letheran will have a stormer. He'll make 25 ridiculous saves at Anfield, they'll do a huge feature on Match Of The Day, then he'll fade into obscurity. Always happens.
let's hope he doesn't get injured. Be nice sat with your head in your hands from the 12th minute watching Istvan warm up with the gloves on, while Gerrard, Tores and co rub their hands together.
Tjought we'd agreed on here that Torres and Gerard wouldn't be playing as they had some other big games around the same time. Has someone not told Benitez?
surely if worst comes to the worst... we just sign a experienced un-cup tied keeper on a short term emergency load... which normally happens with keepers
Young prospect? He's nearly 30 According to Soccerbase and the Official club site he was born in 1978.
We have got a week to find a keeper who is not cuptied if players have to be in 14 days before games . As I said last night with all the irons in the fire approaching Midnight SDs priority was to get a keeper in for the next 3 League games and then look for someone later moving Colgan out should mean we wont have any trouble being allowed to bring a Keeper in as we now only have 2 on board and 1 is cuptied.
I agree - Let Letheren play at Anfield Why not? Obviously lacks first team experience, and will be bricking it playing at Anfield (he won't be on his own there) but why not let him have his day?
