It's the interview on Barnsley Player, watched it last night. Probably his most negative one but seemed to be more of a dig at the press than anything else. The Dagnall L2 thing's a massive eye opener, though.
Do you think he is struggling to deal with the pressure? I dont see his interviews but read what he says and he was on about the pressure of his home life as well as that from being Championship manager over the Christmas period.
Robins walked away because of the budget,Hill was made aware of it the present management team were made well aware of the budget/s available to them. MR Hill is apparently famed for his abilities with such a budget.I do not see the article as him having a moan at the club, because he was aware before.I just think he is in fact trying to tell people that we are tight and must act accordingly. Despite my many tantrums on here I really have to concede the point that he is doing quite well for us. Crowds have dwindled, perhaps if or when the economy takes a better turn then we will maybe have better crowds. Looks like we will have to be a selling club for a deal longer. If that keeps us as a middle of the table Championship side and our heads above water, then thats good by me.
Why is it an eye opener are you surprised its that much or that little? We have signed quite a few players - Dagnell, Edwards, Perkins, Wiseman, Davies,Done spring immediately to mind - if we got all that lot at an average of £300K each I dont think Hill has done badly at all - especially as we also signed up Vas Te I assume on a free
Because I've been led to believe we've spent next to **** all Turns out we've spent close to £2 million. I haven't a clue where that's gone, but I'm pretty certain we've been had.
Re: He also says we've spent £1.8 million on players Yeah not sure if he's referring to his overall budget or just transfer fees. I can't imagine fees are anywhere near that considering we've only spent money on: Done Wiseman McNulty Dagnall In fact, he's got to be talking overall budget. Or just talking ****.
"There is no loyalty to football managers and anything that goes wrong at a football club is the responsibility and the sole blame of the manager,” he added. “It’s unfortunate that people who sit below the parapet often get ignored or are allowed to get away with not doing their jobs properly. A manager would never be allowed to do that and is fully responsible. He was doing a great job at Hull but that gave him the opportunity to go back to Leicester. All the best and I applaud his decision to do it.” I hope and trust that messrs Rowing and Taylor are doing their best to work with Keith Hill and David Flitcroft and not getting the fcking arse on should Hill or Flitcroft express an opinion that doesn't hold sway with theirs. We have a manager willing to work under financial constraints that Mark Robins **** himself at and that Simon Davey would have fainted at. They need looking after and also need some slack cutting from certain fans. Take what's happening this season in the context of a vastly reduced budget. Think on.
I would think at this moment in time he should be sitting pretty with the majority of fans wanting his babies, the backing of the board and league position/points.
I for one want 'em. If fowk took performances in isolation then he'd be fine. But it seems him acting like a bit of a lovely person in press conferences is important to some fowk.
Interesting Website on players wages here http://footballmanagement.wordpress.com/2011/10/30/wages-and-the-distortion-of-the-pyramid/
Av always said he should just let his team do the talking, because he`s no different to all managers they all spout ******** anyway.
And a not very interesting argument underneath it... But the point remains - PL wages are a fcking piss take and their effect further down damages football.
Same interview different spin Both articles are taken from the same interview. Its interesting how one seems much more positive than the other. I guess we need to remember when we read what Hill has said, that the media have their own agenda and will put their own slant on things http://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/barnsley/hill_finding_recruitment_is_getting_more_difficult_1_4137741
Very true, sir As for querying his comments on his budget, there's more to an incoming deal than just the transfer fee. For example, signing on fees payable to the player will be included in the budget (which still apply even if a player arrives on a 'free'), along with such things as agents fees. Still, what would Hill know about his own budget? He's only the manager after all and should appreciate he isn't allowed to express his opinion over any issues with the club. That option is only available to people who like to bairn about every little detail with regards to BFC.
