Me too, in fact I got so angry that booing wasn't enough and so I smashed the radio to bits, kicked the **** out of the kitchen door and threw my tea at our lass when she smiled at me in the wrong way. He's a b astard. Hill out.

Orsenkaht complaining about other people going on too much. Priceless.

Up next, 'thereev' bemoans OTT fan negativity, and demands patience.

Yes true the first three home games were shocking and quite rightly drew a lot of criticism from fans, I dont think too many would argue with that. The personal criticism and abuse that Hill received for pretty much everything he said was wrong and at times resembled a witch-hunt and it was this that divided opinion IMHO.

He got stick for having a go, you dont see that but a lot do, yet they are the ones that get stick on here. They are made to feel inferior as fans because they dare to have different views.
Nothing wrong with having differing viewpoints, everything wrong in being told you are inferior.

I really don't think the fans that have a go are inferior, i just dont agree with what they say but they are entitled to their opinion.

It's a very weird world we live in

A football manager, for once, manages to get through an interview without insulting the customers who pay his wages and this is cause for celebration and open season on those people who have, in the past, questioned why he chooses to act in that way.

Next week I think we should have a go at Refuge because apparently Bob from Huddersfield didn't beat his wife this week.

And no, I'm not comparing one to the other.

Re: It's a very weird world we live in

To be fair I think Dave is perhaps taking the **** a little about the section of fans who seemed to take offence at anything and everything KH said, or who looked for sentiment that perhaps wasn't there ? The 'conspiracy theorist' post the other day when Hill said Watford would probably try and stifle home support is an example.

I can fully see how people would pick up on the contradictions between Hill's pre season quotes and those in the first few weeks of the season, but I genuinely cannot see anything to take offence at or feel insulted by. Whether he's naive or knows full well what he's saying will get picked up and dissected I don't know.

He's a bit of a Lancashire gob on legs and he might not be (well, definately isn't) to everyone's taste, but if all we want is watered down, bland cliched statements then we've got the wrong man.

    It's all subjective I suppose.

Some things he's said have been taken to extremes, without question

But he's also got away with some pretty sly stuff.

Last week he basically said that Barnsley haven't had any success. Well in the last 15 years I've seen us win promotion to the Premiership, get to two FA Cup quarter finals and a semi final, play at Wembley twice and the Millennium Stadium and beat Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham. We've spent all but 4 years of the last 30 in the Championship and we've spent more years in the Championship than any other club. I think that's a lot of success for a small, provincial town like Barnsley.

What exactly has Keith Hill done? He's managed Rochdale, a team we haven't played in the league for over 30 years because we've constantly been above them, and he's won 1 promotion. But he never tires of telling us what a great manager he is, while we're the ones with no success. Why would our manager want to belittle our club like that and make out we're lucky to have him? It's him that's stepping up, not us.

He just fcuks me off. He really winds me up. And it's not like I've got a history of getting the monk on with Barnsley managers. I've spent hours on this BBS defending no marks like Davey and Hart. I'm not a sensitive little soul constantly looking to take offence. So I think Hill has got to be pretty exceptional in the obnoxious stakes for me to get so ****** off with him.

Re: Some things he's said have been taken to extremes, without question

It comes down to personalities - I have a pathological hatred of Harry Redknapp. Everything he says properly f-cks me off. I know not why.

As regards the 'success' thing - I can only assume somebody has corresponded with him and alluded to the fact we're used to 'success' - relative to what I don't know. Of all the things Hill's broached in his interviews this is the one I really wish he'd have kept his counsel. For what it's worth I think he started talking about 'success' since we got back to the Championship - and leaving our Cup run aside, we've pretty much managed 4th bottom with masses of money spent on the team - I think KH was saying that if we get 4th bottom for example this season on a much reduced budget than that is comparable if not better success than recent seasons.

Why he had to mention our Prem promotion etc I don't know - but you take the rough with the (not so) smooth with him I suppose. We're all different and I don't expect everyone to do and say everything in the way I want (not saying that you do btw) so I can put up with him. Others obviously can't. Fair enough. But it's good grounds for **** taking on both sides, something we didn't have under Mark Robinzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

If we play like we did last Saturday every week then none of it matters. I'll quickly get over his outbursts. But it was a bit galling after watching the $hit fest that was the Middlesbrough game to then tune in to the radio and be told I'm also a lovely person. He didn't quite say it, but he was itching to.
