I don't think Keith really rates Done that highly, as shown by the number of times he has started him. The problem is that now someone else has shown an interest in him and made a ridiculous bid, it's making Hill think twice and he is reluctant to sell because he's afraid that Done might be better than expected. The fact that Don thinks we should sell but Keith doesn't is a bit worrying. Shame Don didn't win that battle.
They look at it from different angles. The Don looks at a player, signed on a free, being sold for £500K. Keith looks at the team, and the way Done has improved, and what he adds to the team.
Re: They look at it from different angles. I think Don looks at it as a club are offering £500 for a player who is worth a quarter of that at best. For me, Craig Davies is one of the best players at the club and we'd be lost without him but if Bolton offered £5m for him I'd bite their hands off.
He did have a season broken up by injuries so that has a bearing on his starts. And it was his first season at this level, think he will start more this season. If we are being offered c750k though I think we have to take it.
Unless there is a valid financial reason meaning that from a business point of view we have to sell then Don's opinion should have nothing to do with it. The manager should be the one to make the decision as to who he wants to sell and buy within the budget he has been set.
Nar then correct me if I'm wrong but when keef signed done didn't he say his intention was bring him on slowly as he didn't think he was ready to be 1st team regular but due injuries and players leaving plus a few a good performances from the player meant he started more games than was initially thought. Decent player but if palarse have offered 750 grand I'd snatch their fookin' hands off.
i would hazard a guess that if it wasnt for all the injuries, especially obrien and silva he would be long gone
