By far. The argument that he's conceded loads of goals didn't stop Robinson in Euro 2004 after letting in shed loads at Leeds. Plus Green's injured.
He was woeful against Arsenal the other night bad position on Henry free kick in partic. Carson is a better keeper than Green, and after the Denmark friendly, James shouldnt be allowed another game in the England shirt.
RE: He was woeful against Arsenal the other night I'm not saying he's a world beater... it's more a reflection on Green and James, but I think he should be in the squad. See James made a bad mistake yet again yesterday.
RE: He was woeful against Arsenal the other night Svens plan B - David James upfront. You heard it here 1st.
Have to be honest Al mate.. I've only seen Davis have one good game (Man Utd) and I've seen him make some awful mistakes.
RE: Have to be honest Al mate.. I've seen him make some mistakes, but not as many as James and Green for the amount he's had to deal with. I must say that before this season I thought he was very dodgy but he's been very good in the Sunderland games I've seen this season. I'm bearing in mind he faces an almost constant barrage of shots at Sunderland so he make one or two more mistakes per season but that's maybe less per shot or whatever than Green or James. And the one game I remember Carson playing for Liverpool, he cost them a goal.
I think its irrelevant in any event.. 'Cos we never use more than one goalkeeper anyway. And I don't mind James as 2nd choice if its for one or two games. Robinsons a million miles ahead of all the other candidates.
RE: I think its irrelevant in any event.. He certainly is, born out by the fact I'd even consider Davis.
RE: He was woeful against Arsenal the other night As a goalkeeper myself, there was NOTHING wrong with his position, he had his side covered - had the wall done its job properly there would have been no problem. If Henry had bent the Free kick to the side where Davis was - he would have had it covered easily - the wall failed him, especially the clown in the middle who watched it float over his head!
Did I read that right? If Henry had bent it to the other side Davis would have had it covered? Surely its Henry's job to bend it the opposite side to the one the goalkeeper has covered? Thats just like saying "If the keeper had dived the right way for the penalty he'd have saved it" or "If he'd hit the back of the net it would have been a goal" ff
RE: Did I read that right? Great job on nit picking and missing the entire point altogether mate. Yes it was Henry's job to bend it in the opposite corner - he did this successfully, so how was the goal any fault of Kelvin Davis??? I was responding to an earlier post stating that Davis was at fault for the free kick - he wasnt - he had his side covered, the wall failed him? Now...what was your point again??? (dunno)
