Is that why they only had 20,000 there on Saturday?

    Because they're all banned?

First game with the new manager in charge, playing top of the league, and the worst supported city in the UK pull out an almighty attendance of 20,000.

    Scum

My favourite statistic of all these days - worst supported solus football team city in the country!

Rank Urban sub-area Population (2001 Census) Constituent Country Ceremonial county Notes Photo
1 London 7,172,091 England Greater London Greater London administrative area only. The wider Greater London Urban Area has an estimated population of 8,505,000[5] (2005 estimate), and a metropolitan area of between 12 and 14 million.[6][7] It is the United Kingdom's only mega city.[8]
2 Birmingham 970,892 England West Midlands Metropolitan district, minus Sutton Coldfield, which is counted as a separate settlement, plus areas in the north of the Metropolitan Borough of Solihull such as Castle Bromwich. Population of entire West Midlands conurbation is 2,284,093.
3 Glasgow 629,501 Scotland Glasgow Population of entire Greater Glasgow conurbation is 1,199,629 at the 2001 census[9].
4 Liverpool 469,017 England Merseyside Metropolitan district. Population of entire Liverpool Urban Area conurbation is 1,365,900.
5 Leeds 443,247 England West Yorkshire City & Metropolitan district has a population of 810,200. Population of entire West Yorkshire Urban Area conurbation (including in particular Bradford, Huddersfield and Wakefield) is 1,499,465.

I wish I could find a link to the statistic that I first saw in the mid-1990's when I was working in Leeds......it studied where Premier League season ticket holders came from in relation to their club, and a higher percentage of Leeds ST holders were from outside the city, than Man Utd ST holders that were from outside of Manchester.
Really shut up the Leeds fans at work did that....wish I'd saved it.
