    He was exactly the same at Chelsea by all accounts. Apparently someone used to scrawl graffiti about Bates in the Stamford Bridge toilets and as he bacame more frustrated at his attempts to catch the culprit he began to make vague threats to the person concerned in the matchday programme :eek:

    I hate Bates, but if he is talking about the disallowed goal at Elland Road then I couldn't see a foul either. Shouldn't have been a corner in the first place though.

    I think it is wonderful

    that referees have, obviously, not awarded any questionable decisions to Leeds.

    Oh wait a minute, how many times was Nugent (wrongly) called offside in the game at Elland Road?
