Breathtaking!

"whilst the Revenue have our taxes to pay for that litigation, the Club could simply not afford it"

No they haven't got your taxes to pay for it you lying bas.tard, cos you haven't fookin PAID your taxes. That's why you're in the **** and deservedly so.

And accusing the Revenue of being intransigent - all they're doing is trying to get back SOME - not all - of the public money that Leeds have stolen to fund their business.

How does the **** sleep at nights?

How can any football league chairman vote impartially without having the full facts from the League/Inland Reveue as to their version of events and why they imposed a 15 point penalty? Hearing only 1 side of an argument surely means an abstention from voting is the correct procedure.

Also, could Bates not be deemed to be tryong to pervert the course of justice by sending this letter prior to teh appeal ie it's like 'getting at the witnesses' to vote you no guilty before a court trial.

................finally, what vested interest do the other 23 chairman have in Div 1 to save Leeds at possibly the expense of relegating their own team?

There is so much wrong with that it would take hours to write it all up

and I just cant be bothered

Didnt a team (cant remember who) get relegated 3 divisions recently because the revenue forced them to break the football creditors rule. If Leeds are only getting 15 points for breaking the CVA rule I think they are getting off lightly

Can the points deduction be increased by the appeal as well

    I believe it can

I'm sure I read in the papers over the weekend that the penalty could be reduced, left the same or increased as a result of the appeal.

    I must admit...

I'd have to laugh if it was increased.

RE: There is so much wrong with that it would take hours to write it all up

Boston went down from the FL to the Conference but were then relegated again into the Conference North because they agreed a CVA that didn't allow for full payment of football creditors.

The fact that they were coerced by HM Customs & Revenue into making this arrangement cut no ice whatsoever with the football authorities.

And I'm not suggesting HMC&R were wrong to take this line - they must be sick to the back teeth of businesses (including football clubs) effectively stealing from the public purse to shore up their finances.

Thanks thats who I was thinking of

Not sure there is too much difference between the cases myself

Just to get this straight Bates seems to think he can just walk away from a multimillion pound debt, and carry on as if nothing had happened. Football league rules state you must have a CVA, Leeds don't , rules broken so its fairly clear cut to me.

"As Directors of the Club we had a duty to act in the best interests of the Club"

All the other clubs Directors also have a duty to act in the best interests of their clubs and give Bates the fingers. (givinfinger)

Lets not forget that Birdseye is living in tax exile.
This man is the lowest of the low... Never been keen on Leeds but I don't think any club deserves this **** hanging about them.

I would like to see the administration rules change, so that the Chairman and Chief Exec who places a club into admin should be prohibited from any position within football for at least 5 years. That would stop what Bates has done.

Finally, who put him in charge of the Wembley project, when he isn't fit to run a meat raffle.

Relegate them about a trillion divisions.

Even if they've done nothing wrong, relegate them for being the most odious club in the world, with the most cnutish fanbase.

How I hope they go bust.

there is one simple solution to this

Football League : "Mr Bates, you either tell us who owns and controls the offshore companies who have invested in Leeds United FC, with appropriate proof, or we deduct 50 points from next season."

    Bates : "Erm....."

Football League. "It's 60 points now."

My particular favourite bit was -

    The administration was not pre-planned.

it was a co-incedence that it happened 2 day after they were relegated, and before the endof the season, so the 10 point penalty would not apply to the season after.

How stupid does he think we are.

I'm pretty sure that there was a game left when they went into admin. But there needed to be a big goal difference swing between then and Hull.
