http://www.rainrescue.co.uk/Rain_Rescue/Rehomed_2011.html#2 Lady has Kennel Cough. I took my new rescue dog to the Vet's yesterday for a full check up and he said she was healthy with a good heart and lungs and about 7 yrs old. However, with being in the Pound and then into the Rescue , she has contracted Kennel Cough, the Vet says it's not too bad and she only coughs when she gets excited or when about to go for a walk, poor little thing. She has been energetic and lively but today she is a bit listless. After only 4 days we love her to bits. we thought she was the perfect dog Very obedient House trained - no messes at all. Walks lovely on the lead. Eats up all her food. Loves to cuddle up on the sofa with you or lie at your feet. Ok on her own for a couple of hours. Travels well in the car. But oh my, when I got her to the Vet's she went manic. Now, we have had 4 Rescue Dogs over the years and all 4 have been absolutely manic at the Vets, she was no exception and was cowering against the door and really in a panic. The Vet, Ian, was smashing with her and managed to sort her out, once back in the car she was like a quiet little angel. She is on tablets from the Vet, but owing to the cough I have had to cancel her grooming appointment at Michelle's. How long is she likely to be like this? she's still keen to go for a walk and eats up her food, last night she cried for a bit longer than on the first night and what a pitiful sound that is. Apparently she was brought into the pound with a cat and another dog, so maybe she is missing them. It's not a nice sound at night.
