RE: I just thought... No one really knew where to play Betsy. He wasn't quite a winger and he wasn't quite a striker - he was somewhere in between. I think the best game I saw him play was as a winger away at Colchester. The left back did not get the ball off him all night and he just seemed to block through tackles and glide like Martin Offiah down his wing. Those size thirteen boots were his problem, though. You never knew where the ball would end up when he hoofed it.
there was a short period when betsy and gorre were flying, teams didn't know who to double up onand we were playing lovely football, hame it didn't last very long.
