Not even as a spectator if we gave him a free ticket and threw in a pie and a pint.

Our system would probably pinpoint him as a full back or goalkeeper.

It's stuff like this that helps you lose any last thread of hope for morality in the sphere of football.

Why so? For me, looking after your family financially is pretty good morals. You’ll bring up about the Saudi regime, but why care? Can you control it? No. Worrying about controllables and not worrying about uncontrollables makes life a lot easier and happier.

He’s been one hell of a player in his time at City but seems injuries are catching him up now.

I don’t have any affiliation with Man City (apart from Stones of course) but I enjoy watching good footballers and De Bruyne has certainly been one of those.

Control it, no. Help promote it? Well yes, yes you can.

I wouldn't have been able to control Pol Pot, but neither would I have worked for him if he offered a wedge of cash.

Very odd post to introduce morality in to.

I can't wait for someone to come in and try the "you wouldnt turn down a 500k a week job in Saudi" angle.

Asif going from De Bruynes wage to the wage he'll get in Saudi is similar to the jump a common peasant like myself would experience

For me, people sticking their fingers in their ears and saying "we can't change it so why get upset" is a massive reason why what happens in Saudi Arabia is going on unchallenged and why this blatant sportswashing is working.

For me any footballer who goes over there just to earn a bit more money are greedy sh*thouses.

If you're under the impression hes going to Saudi, yes i agree with you, but from the reports i get the impression his priority is whats best for his wife and kids which is to go to the US

So if he signs for a club in the MLS that would be ok, given American foreign policy has resulted in more deaths around the world than any other country? Pick and choose your morality, that works.

Greatest midfield player in Premier League history, statistically untouched and his statue will adorn the Etihad campus probably in the new fan park as befits a true great, a player of the people. Changing of the guard.

How many tens or hundreds of millions has the poor lamb been given so far?

And at the minute, I'd equally question anyone going to play in Trumpland.
