So when Long goes back to Burnley who do we replace him with?

    Roberts?
    Nyatanga?

Or get someone in on loan?

Tangs and Cowgill as back up

Roberts has done well when he's come in. He did well earlier on in the season to be fair, did little wrong, just a little inexperienced. And he has that long throw on him which is as good as doubling our corner count for the game.

I would love to see Roberts step up but I think it is to soon not to have an experienced centre half similar to long guiding the defense. Lewin has shown this season that he couldn't and was at fault for several goals. If we are to maintain a push for the playoffs I believe we need to bring in a loan.

Marc Roberts, did well when called upon against Bradford.
Young Cowgill seems to be a decent prospect, would be nice to see him in the squad as back up.

Regarding Nyatanga, i think his days with us are numbered, not good enough, could do with a fresh start elsewhere.

I'd say we need experience alongside Mawson but if we can't get somebody in on loan then give Roberts a go. I'd just worry about the lack of experience with Mawson and Roberts together.

Long and Roberts are more or less the same age (both are older than Mawson).

Time for Robbie to get his chance, stand up and be counted.
I think if Hecky shows faith in him he will do just that.

I don't think our options are particularly good but Roberts demonstrated some potential earlier in the season before his form deserted him so I guess him.

Not sure how much he'd cost permanently but Dan Burn from Fulham would be a good shout on loan. Sure Sheff Utd were after him in January so cant be featuring in Fulhams first team too much and looked good whenever I've seen him.

We don't need anybody. Nyatanga is a top class centre half on his day in this division, even though we haven't really seen it this season and Roberts is more than capable.

Cowgill has got to be given the chance at being fourth choice centre half. He had a nightmare on his debut last season but from what I've heard and seen, he's a prospect.

May as well as spend money on players we actually need in the summer.
