    only if burnley terminate his contract and we sign him as a free agent. can't see it though..

    Think he'd be in limbo until July if they terminated his contract. Would have needed to do so before transfer deadline for him to be eligible.

    I think he's right in saying that unless they're a free agent before the deadline they don't count until the next window. Otherwise what would stop Club A saying to Club B "we'll give you £8 million to terminate this lad's contract", and then signing the released player on what would be a free transfer?

    Got to be a free agent in the transfer window, which he wasn't he was contracted to Burnley.
