It would be in the league below us though. It would be similar to the Leon Constantine deal when he turned down us and it buggered him in the long run.
12 goals this season in the Championship. And it wouldn't bugger him, he's been on top wages playing at the highest levels for the majority of his career.
Simon, get your phone out. If he turned us down for footballing reasons at start of season, not money. But now he might be going there, then surely we are interested. Even if we have to give him a coaching role. In fact, that would be bonus, he might be able to teach the other strikers what that big net thing at either end of the pitch is for.
Unfortunately Driver this would bring out the insecurities in Davey and giving Phillips a coaching role would pose a problem for Davey whether it's good for the club or not.
you're assuming that Davey's thought processes are in tune with Barnsley fans, indeed, any fooking fan. What is logical and commonsensicle to most people is far removed fom Davy's logic.
That's just given me a right chuckle... I forget that when the fans say "I would have done this..." that the outcome they were expecting ALWAY happens, without fail. Bringing subs on in the last few minutes can always come back to bite you (it was 0-0 before Butterfield came on on Saturday, not that I blame him personally), but on here it seems one substitution would have banged in 10 goals or been able to stop the 11 men on the other team. Do you seriously think Davey would stop someone coming in who could only help his career?
fans are always correct and we make the best referees but no one seems to take any notice. I don't understand why.
What we should put to the FA... We do like a half time draw kind of thing. Winner gets to come on as a sub up front in the last 5 minutes. Men aged 18-35 only. Can't be much worse than Saturday... Winner also gets to ref the next home match...

One of the reasons he knocked us back, was he didn’t want to uproot his family to come this far north.+ Birmingham offered more money.

Wouldn’t Huddersfield fall into that bracket too (dunno)

We offered him more money apparantly... his reasons were that he didnt want to be in a relegation scrap and his family were settled in the area. He had a choice of clubs to go to in the summer.
